Undoubtedly, Shalom backpacker's has the best hospitality anyone could ask for at such budget stay. The stays are very comfortable, has a great environment, very welcoming and friendly. Special kudos, to Gaurav who has been the best host till date. Very helpful and a generous soul. He goes out of the way to provide comfort to every backpackers.

We stayed for 2 days but it felt like we should have extended our stay here because of the warm hospitality and clean rooms and specially the host (Gaurav) he is such genuine and happening host I have ever came across!! But *** loved the overall vibe and food of shalom and this is heartfelt not AI generate!! All love to Shalom and it’s team!! ❤️❤️ thank you Gaurav bhai!

Best you can have in affordable prices and the staff was amazing like you’re meeting your friends. Specially the Ankit, Abhishake & Udit Bhai. You can tease Abhishake a little you get nice comebacks from him. You can the pictures with the review. They will help you with all the booking Bungy Jumping rafting and Scooty on rent too. Come on solo trip but made some really good friends. Food is amazing specially the bad ass burger must. See you next time guys.

My wife and me are in our late fifties and our daughters decided to send us to Rishikesh on my wife's birthday. They booked the flight tickets and took the premium room at Shalom Backpackers, Rishikesh paying a hefty price from 28/03/2025 to 31/03/2025. Our ordeal started once we reached the hotel and saw the room. The room was dirty, floors unclean, walls had dampness and at some places the plaster was coming out. There was a stench in the room that was nauseating. The bathrooms were unkempt, unclean with no water pressure and everything like the towels, blankets, bed sheets, glasses, coffee maker etc. seemed unhygienic and unusable. The tv in the room was not functional. The room was effectively on the 6th floor with a terrace and there is no lift facilities making it difficult for older people to go up and down. We did take up all these issues with the management but all that they did was sympathise. All in all it was just burning away your money for nothing.

Whether it was sharing local tips, organizing activities, or just having meaningful conversations over chai, Gaurav's energy created a beautiful and comforting atmosphere. The hostel itself is clean, calm, and filled with good vibes – perfect for solo travelers, backpackers, or anyone looking to connect with like-minded people. It's located in a great spot too – close to the Ganga, yet tucked away enough to enjoy some peace. Highly recommend staying here if you're in Rishikesh.
