A truly wonderful place. The hospitality is second to none and the experiences are equally as fantastic. The golf course was in great condition after a long winter and the pace of place was great. The new addition of the smoker on the 10th green is a great option especially with it included in the cost of the round.

We had a lovely stay with friends, we would highly recommend for a relaxing weekend away. We enjoyed the hiking, service, food and amenities. we loved laurel bar and the bbq and bluegrass. The staff was very friendly and accommodating during our stay

Wow, what a place! Yes, it’s a pain to get to, in a very remote area, but that’s one of the many elements that make it so special. The long drive to the resort is just stunning. And the resort is absolutely terrific—12,000 acres, which is twice the size of the city we live in! You definitely want to book a Pinnacle room, as they have great decks, are very secluded, and have awesome views. Rooms are spacious high ceilings, ample large windows, perfect seating areas to enjoy the incredible views. The deck is a good size with great seating. Bathroom is HUGE! Well appointed and nicely lit. Most lights are on dimmers which make it that much nicer. Bed is uber comfy. Only complaint is only 4 coat hangers are provided in a small closet—totally insufficient particularly in winter with coats. Also there’s a nice table next to the mini-fridge but no chair for it—that should be fixed. They have nice complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages which are replenished daily. Also, a shuttle service to the main lodge for dining, or to the many on-site activities. Had a few issues with it, but that was quickly remedied. The spa is excellent. A separate women’s area with jacuzzi and steam room. Had a facial which was divine, although pricey for this area. Had dinner at their Leatherflower restaurant which had terrific food and service. But it was loud and bright as we were hoping for a more intimate dining experience. We also did the ATV experience which was a lot of fun. They have other “castle-like” amenities to choose from. We’re not golfers, but that looked to be a great course. Also missed the observatory due to cloudy weather, but I’m sure that’s great too. It is such a beautiful area to drive to, and so worth it. This is a resort that should definitely be experienced.

Great resort. We have stayed at Primland numerous times over the past decade. Amazing views. Phenomenal golf course. Definitely the #1 course in Virginia. The staff is very friendly. Menu selection has improved and new furnishings at the resort are a nice upgrade

This hotel has an amazing 12,000 acre property with tons of great activities and an absolutely superb staff. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with nice amenities. Hikes were varied, extremely well marked and beautiful. Pond fishing and fly fishing was a real treat with true experts as our guides who had everything perfectly set up for us and helped us have very successful fishing outings (we caught tons of fish!). Food was excellent throughout - great variety and extremely high quality ingredients and preparation. Best of all, the service was incredible throughout our stay. Every person at the resort and outdoor activity center was extremely warm, helpful, prompt and really made us feel like VIPs at all times. I had never heard of Meadow of Dan, VA before this visit, and will definitely return.

We came to Primland to celebrate our anniversary, and we're treated with kindness from an organized and knowledgeable staff. They were aware of our schedules, helped us get around, and consistently made recommendations to heighten our experience. Our stay lasted four nights, but the vast array of activities meant we always had something to look forward to. We opted to try the clay shooting course, and although we were complete beginners, our guide made the experience fun and competitive. We also hiked trails on the property grounds, enjoyed the wine tasting experience with the resort's friendly sommelier, and relaxed at the pool and spa facilities which were full of high-quality amenities. The dinners at the resort restaurant, Leatherflower, were delicious each night, and the more casual bar and in-room dining options made meals extremely convenient. We brought our elderly pet with us as well, and the staff treated him like a fellow guest, offering him treats and comforts throughout--we were extremely impressed and grateful for this simple detail. We are very likely to return to Primland in the future, and wholeheartedly recommend the property to family, friends, and any prospective guests.
