Great location, lovely staff, and the breakfast buffet was marvellous. The lady at the breakfast who looked after us was first class and really made for an enjoyable breakfast, she was a credit to the hotel.

On face value it looks quite nice, rooms however are dated but trying to be modern on the cheap. Room smelled of damp and toilet/bathroom had very strong smell or urine. Lighting level in bathroom was terrible and potentially dangerous. Breakfast service was very slow with items running out and waiting long periods for replacements to arrive. Paying for parking on top of the hotel cost is also an insult, charging for day/conference visits is sort of acceptable but paying guests should not be charged additional parking.

Stayed for one night. Room pleasant enough but bed way too soft. In the morning we discovered that we had no hot water. On visiting reception, I was informed that the main boiler had failed and hopefully it would be fixed later thay day. This was no good for us as we had to be out by 11. I get that this is out of the hotel's control and these things happen. To rub salt in the wound I was informed by reception as I had booked through *******(**********) there was nothing they could do! To me that would suggest they'd help further if booked direct!! Not one of my best trips away, lesson learnt.

Paid for a Superior room. If 341 was Superior I dread to think what the others are like. Wardrobe was a rail in an alcove. No sideboard or drawers for clothing so unable to unpack suitcase. No walk-in shower although we're told every room has a shower over a bath and 'Accessible' Rooms have a slightly lower side which is of no use to someone who now struggles to get into any bath. Fan didn't work. The room was worse than Travel Lodge and Premier Inn. Reception is not permanently manned. However, staff excellent and helpful. Perhaps we were given this room because we paid using Tesco vouchers? We were hoping to book a small Reunion here but have now booked elsewhere.

Staff rude. Lack of information, reception barely staffed Wanted room service no menu in room, no answer from reception. Went to the restaurant and was seated but were ignored for ages... about 20 just to take a drinks order. Room generally clean but lots of mould around the shower screen and sink. Staff seemed rude to me and my husband but overly friendly with other guests so take it personally... felt it was possibly as we are same sex couple

Initially looked clean but under chair cushions, under bed and some areas of the carpet particularly skirtings were dusty, with crumbs, paper etc. Although bed very large the duvet did not fit and only covered the top of the bed. Tea and coffee making meagre, 2 sachets of full caff and 2 decaff and 1 flapjack. We were allegedly in a 'superior' room but at back of hotel overlooking the bin facility and could hear bottles being disposed of throughout the evening. On the plus side it's very convenient for the town centre and the onsite restaurant was satisfactory.
