I stayed here for a girls week. I love the amenities, the pool and activities. They had some amazing restaurants close by. There were many local “fun things” like pontoon boats, beach fire rentals. I visited a few restaurants most which have a beach behind them. The souvenir shops I found to be affordable. I will definitely visit again.
訪訪客Wonderful stay — depending on what the guest is looking for. To start, this motel is a step back in time. Late 1950s, early 1960s vibe. This would be OG Panama City Beach, folks. From the parking lot, this is straight out of a movie set from mid century America. The “front desk” is in a round building separate from the motel — the way they used to be when folks hit the road for long vacations and drove up to their room area. Free coffee in the check in area and the absolutely nicest front desk staff you will ever meet. Friendly, attentive staff is a hallmark of this place. Lots of staff on hand to help out. I have stayed in $500/night hotels on NYC’s prime areas and not had staff this attentive and friendly. The room was large (especially by modern standards), bed comfy and balcony overlooked pool and the Gulf. Refrigerator was larger than the standard hotel mini-fridge and can hold quite a bit of food. Microwave is standard hotel size. The pool was hopping. Lots of families, retirees and young adults. Teenagers took over at night and had a great time. A huge checkers and chess board was fun for the kids to clown around with. There are steps to the beach, and you can get umbrella and chairs set up down there. Lots of people just seemed to picnic by the pool or sun deck, and had drinks at pool bar. Plenty of towels available for the pool chairs. Again, staff is amazing. They are even patient when a dozen children (age 10 or so and under) from lots of different families pile into the bar chairs and ask for glasses of water that are served with a smile and as if those soaking wet kids are the most important guests they have. Now, for why this place isn’t for everybody: building design is vintage, no-nonsense concrete and brick. It is not a modern high-rise. There is no elevator. If you need help, tell staff in advance, and they will put you on the parking lot level so you can drive to your door. There are ice machines on the east side of each level. It is not fancy, and if you want modern, this is not it. Remember, one person’s “dated” is another person’s time-travel fun. This is a step back to mid century US vacation heyday. The biggest difference from that era: The mix of guests is delightfully diverse. In short: I found it to be a fun place, clean, comfortable, had all the amenities we needed and was a good value. Would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend to folks who would appreciate the vibe. I hope someone doesn’t come in and “update it” beyond its historic roots.
訪訪客The entire place smells bad. It's filthy. Staff (except Don) are extremely rude and very unprofessional. In the first room i was put in the garden tub in my room was broken and not able to be used. The phone to the office was broken. The room was not very clean. In the morning I woke up to loud construction in the room next to mine. (No warning of this) and my water was turned off while I was in the shower. (No warning). The furniture is outdated and disgusting. After talking to the front desk I was told I was moving to another room on the other side of the hotel where there wasn't any construction. When I came back that evening to move the nasty, rude, unprofessional lady at the desk that evening kept rolling her eyes when I told her what was going on and that I was supposed to move. She finally called the owner and said he said ”No I'm fine where I'm at”. I woke up the next day again to construction and spoke with the desk again. I was finally moved. The rooms AC did not work, there was no cable. The blankets were filthy. The night stand was sticky and gross. The couch didnt even have the cushions that belong to it on it. There were cushions from an obviously different old dirty couch. The garden tub was falling apart and the cable didn't work. And let's not forget the roaches. The nasty night lady was there so I waited until morning. I told the manager only about the cable and roaches. The owner started screaming and cussing at me saying this is how it is and this is his customer service and if I don't like the condition of the hotel to pack and get my a$$ out. He told me to never rent there again and that if I mentioned anything else wrong he would throw me out of the hotel because he isnthe owner and can. I walked away as I was leaving in the morning and was late for an appointment. I called the site I rented through to report. When they called the hotel the owner lied and said everything was fine. The water never went off and everything was in good working condition and I just wanted a discount and they refused. Beware! I wouldn't dare try the free breakfast due to the bad smell, filthy conditions and roaches here
