Slightly tired with some maintenance due. Too many emails (I think 9 in total) re the stay. When on holiday I don't want 9 extra emails!. Staff great, rooms really good and quiet considering the location. It would be good to get all the Sky TV channels for the amount charged. I.e it was missing Channel 7,17,21 etc.

I don’t know what was worse—the argument at check-in over the bed configuration (with no option to select it online at booking), being told there were no staff available to change it (until later, which would’ve been absolutely fine if they’d just said that upfront), OR the state of the room itself. It was dirty and tired—mismatched old fittings and tiles, hairs in the bathroom, grime and mould in the shower, broken and water-damaged kitchen cupboards that wouldn’t close, and floors and rugs that clearly hadn’t been vacuumed properly. The couch was broken (I can understand how this could be missed), and the icebox didn’t work. Then, at 6 AM, City Care woke everyone up leaf-blowing sand off the road—not the hotel’s fault, but the final straw. For what’s meant to be a top-quality hotel, this was really disappointing. I paid around $500 per night or just under (some rooms were listed at $800), and it wasn’t worth it. The next night, I stayed in a $240-per-night hotel that had two queen beds in a clean, modern room instead of two tiny singles. There’s also very limited parking, so lugging heavy bags was a hassle. The pool and outdoor area are stunning, and the views are beautiful, you can hear the waves crashing on the beach at night and I think the location is quite good but that’s about where the positives end. We skipped the restaurant after reading reviews, the menu is very limited for breakfast and dinner anyway. Wouldn’t stay again, especially for that price.

Good location which is only 700 metres to the main town centre. Rooms are good size and nice view over the BOI and pool area. Reception process not good and you have to carry your own luggage to your room. Also car parking is terrible with only a few unmarked spaces and nothing undercover. Staff in restaurant were delightful. But reception disappointing and no luggage service at all.

Booked a room via ******* and decided to stay a second night in the same room and was charged £100 more and only found out when checking banking App. I wouldn’t recommend anyone booking direct - ever!

Loved staying here. Lovely room and balcony. The pool was clean and the hot pools were a great addition on cooler afternoons. Would have liked more dinning options to choose from but the food was delicious both for breakfast and evening meal.

The property is well located with a nice view of the water. The unit was fairly quiet. They have spas and a pool, but no robes to where to the pool. Given the cooler temperature and the hope that people don't walk around in swimming trunks, it would be nice the a "Spa Resort" to provide robes. We stayed for 5 nights and were disappointed when they wanted to charge at additional $45 for checking out at 11 instead of 10. NZ is the only place we seen that has regular check-out at 10, but most places allow 11am if you ask nicely. This place did not. Other than this, the staff were very kind and helpful with advice about the services at the resort. We would likely not stay here again if we are in the area.
