Visited for dinner on Easter Monday 2025. Walked from Harlyn Bay. This was the 3rd time we visited for meals. Once again the food, drinks and service were absolute brilliant. We had fish, mushy peas and salad and scampi, mushy peas and salad, with red wine and carrot and banana cake for dessert, all very delicious. Will certainly visit again.

What a fantastic location for walking. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the facilities were much more than I had anticipated. I chose to eat in the bar and ordered a cooked breakfast for the morning which was perfect but you can choose to self cater and use the shared kitchen facilities. As the website warned there were improvements taking place to the building and outdoor areas but it didnt affect my stay. Overall a fantastic hostel and I would thoroughly recommend.

Popped in for a meal yesterday evening with my husband and three children. Really friendly and patient staff (managed to keep their cool despite one very rude woman at the bar). All our meals were brilliant and they were able to cater for a nut allergy, vegetarian, vegan and a fussy 5 year old! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed and there was even a DJ playing some great holiday tunes. I forgot to mention the amazing view!! Will definitely be back!

We've visited this busy YHA many times, and despite the fact that they are always busy, they are incredibly friendly and heplful. They serve good value basic food (no, you might not always get the choice you have come to expect in big cities - this is Cornwall)... at reasonable prices. You can have a pint watching the incredible Cornish sunset, surrounded by interesting and kind people. There's very few places to top this. We've been in sun, rain and gales and it's always a great place to be. There's often live music or a quiz night, and people are genuinely kind and welcoming. Six stars would be given if I could!

Went for something to eat one evening and was served by the most rude member of staff. Had previously gone and asked for a gluten free garlic bread which I was served no problem. Went back the following night to ask for the same thing and was told by a woman that they did not do gluten free garlic bread. I asked what I had the night before and she said she wasn’t sure. After explaining for 5 minutes what I ordered, she eventually told me I had a pizza (which wasn’t the case but by this point I had given up) and spoke in the most patronising tone. I then asked for just a normal tomato based garlic bread and was told they didn’t do that either - even though it’s on the menu! Such as shame as the other members of staff I had dealt with the previous night were lovely.

Amazing location, good food served all day with Atlantic views. Lots of dogs. Coastal walks, rock pools, dramatic cliffs. Small country roads. Difficult to get phone reception. Beach at your doorstep. They have just built up sheltered seating area, good for winter months.

Accessible by bus number 11 from Padstow or Newquay.Great location for linear walks using the regular bus service.Excellent food store/deli at Constantine Surf Stores and useful top up supplies cabin in Treyarnon Bay car park.Shops are open daily.Staff at the hostel are super helpful, providing advice and paper maps for local walking.
