Older motel that has been updated and remodeled. Nice to be able to park right outside our room. Certainly nothing fancy, but comfortable. The only issue -- we could hear the people next door. Either they were really loud or the walls are pretty thin. The proximity to the beach and Cannery Row is a big plus.

Overall, this place is a great value. The only slight downside was that the in-room wall heater was noisy, as is common with these units. Otherwise, the room was comfortable (very simply, but nicely appointed) and the location is very good. We would be very pleased to stay there again.

Rooms inside have been updated. Windows need replacing/upgrading, clearly drafts of air, cracks in doors and windows not sealed. Indicative of age of property. Staff was very accommodating, and met requests with efficiency. Found the property and location in Pacific Grove overall very charming. Week after Christmas proved way too congested, week after New Years has been our go-to, will return to that approach in the future.

My in person interactions with guest services was excellent. Personable, inquisitive & interested in our visit & absolutely the most polite folks you could ask for in this environment. Wish more hotels & inns in this area were operated this way. Made the stay all the more enjoyable. Thank you Monterey Peninsula Inn

The location is perfect and for that alone, I would stay here again. The staff is friendly and attentive. The room is a bit outdated and for a two bedroom unit, the sliding bathroom doors left little privacy for whoever was using the bathroom. The front door left almost a two inch gap on either side of the door. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and the area is very quiet.

The 2 bedroom cottage was worn out. Beds were so uncomfortable sleeping was pretty impossible. Lopsided and hard a s rocks.The floor was leaning oddly to the middle. I won't book this again.
However
The upstairs rooms that allow dogs are amazing!! The staff is the best! The grounds are well maintained and clean. We've stayed here for years, met family here and have always loved it. The location is nice and quiet.

Great little hotel and location is convenient, short walk to beach and golf course. The deer everywhere was amazing to see them just cruising around. The restaurant by golf course has great breakfast and a impressive Bloody Mary.
The trail that run the beach is great and the view even better. Front desk staff was so kind and helpful. Enjoyed the fit pit and jacuzzi too.

Our room was perfect with its two separate rooms for both privacy and gathering together. Loved the set up. However, the bathroom sink was dripping, the toilet had a crack and had an odd smell. Our sliding door was very difficult to close. We had to have staff come help to secure our room. With a few repairs I would have given this room and inn, a 5 star review.

PROPERTY DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!! I booked a room based on the cute cozy photos of the room but DO NOT BE FOOLED! Rooms are small musky and all is provided is a box fan that is louder than the damn TV. I couldn’t even stay because my wife has a sensitivity to heat and the hotel would not help me. Do not stay here, it sucks.
