Wonderful countryside getaway. Hope the rooms retain the beautiful historic building’s features.

Good location

Shocking,emailed them to enquiry ref accomadation and afternoon teas,we stay at the Rookery a parent hotel who are superb,sadly my enquiry wasnt even answered and I tried twice.We were looking for some where nice to stay as we now spend huge amount of time at bentley showroom in Ripley

I had to go and ask at reception for a Barman to come to the bar to serve drinks, and when he decided to turn up which was about five minutes, he then had to go and get glasses then he went to get strawberries the wait was so long it was quite boring actually. And a top it all off, the drinks are ultra expensive and there’s a £5 service charge. For what????

We hired a conference room for after my father's funeral along with finger food and coffee. The room was nice and the staff were friendly, however, the food was poor and not reflective of the quality of the hotel or the costs charged. Sandwiches were stale and the other food was limited in quality and quantity.... not worth £500 for 15 people (the room was £300 on top of this cost)...they even charged an additional £10 for a jug of orange juice. £100 at any supermarket would have achieved a better spread both in quality and quantity......so very disappointing really

We had afternoon tea as a birthday present . What a delight the hotel was beautiful very historic well maintained. The staff were so helpful friendly and attentive. We had the savoury and the regular afternoon tea. It was delicious the food was fresh made in house the pastry was perfect generous quantity. We will be going back very soon can’t wait to try there other menu’s. Well done to the chefs a place not to miss.

Premium prices for a not so premium experience. Staff varied from clueless and sullen to friendly and helpful. Very inconsistent service and front of house struggled to deal with queries. Whilst the experience wasn’t shockingly bad it also didn’t justify the prices charged.

The service at this hotel is amazing. I have just been for two nights and they treat you like royalty. Nothing is too much and every member of staff is exceptional and they take the time to get to know you, especially Jay and Tony who took the time out to speak to me and ask about my trip. The food was sensational and the bed extremely comfy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall an enjoyable afternoon tea, although have had better elsewhere. Beautiful setting, lovely dining room and very efficient attentive staff. However, I do object to having a 'non' residents service charge slapped onto the bill even after I had said to the waiter 'that's £35 each then' at no point did he mention or point out on the bill the additional SC was added. Apparently it was at the bottom of the menu on arrival but it must've been in very small print as none of us had spotted it!! I telephoned the next day & Jorge looked into my query & duly rang me back to explain the extra charge but sadly, because of this, doubtful I would return for AT, such a shame 😔
