Suite was huge! And the room was clean... breakfast was just ok. Staff was friendly.

Hotel site says common areas under renovation. What it does not say is how dirty and disgusting the actual rooms are. Room smelled musty. Shower was terrible. Carpet was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. The attached pic shows white socks after walking on this carpet. I am a lifetime Hilton Diamond member and booked here on points. I was with family to play at the RTJ Grand National golf course. I was embarrassed to say I stay at Hampton and other Hilton properties constantly. This place is not representative of the name and what one usually finds with Hampton. Follow up calls to manager went unanswered. Planned to stay two nights, but got out after one. Only stayed because we got in so late. First time ever I have found a room bad enough to warrant a refund (in this case points). Stay away!!!

Lots of work going on which made the hotel grubby, breakfast in a dingy conference room. And staff non-plussed “didn’t you get the email?” Obviously not as I would have not stayed there. Advice is to avoid until they have completed the work and cleaned up.

This hotel was below expectations. Rooms were moldy smelling, beds unmade and bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed. Overcharged for a peak weekend because of college move in. Absolutely disappointed. They didn’t disclose construction in hotel

Great hotel near Tiger Town that is in process of renovation. We stayed in a renovated room for 2 nights on the ground floor. Although hotel is in process of renovation, our room was great and the we had very little noise. We will definitely stay here again. Great staff also!

If anything went wrong it went wrong at this hotel. The employees are great but the “general manager” has no leadership. which made the nice employees under her hopeless I was there for 5 nights. My room was never cleaned except the first day when I asked the cleaning crew to please clean it. I went to the front desk and ask them to please clean my room the rest of the stay. It wasn’t cleaned. I asked every day that the missed it and it was not done. The first night my Tv did not work and I called the front desk and they said I had to change the port in the tv from one to two everytime I turn the tv on. Ok I will deal with that but the volume did not work. I called back and they asked if I wanted to change room. This was at 11pm and did it want two move the two of us after we had unpacked for 4 nights. I asked if the maintenance could look at it on Thursday. That night the ac fan did not cut off all night. So that morning I asked if they could look at that also. Did not happen. Called back and talked to front desk and said the maintenance guy left at 4. The only way to stop the fan was to cut off the whole system. At night we had to get up and Cut it off from being cold to hot. They said they would fix TV and ac on Friday. Did not happen. The Saturday night manager came up and could not believe what had happened to us and said she would move us but the hotel was full. So I went to the Sunday morning manager “ the most unprofessional person I meet the whole stay and said” since I refused to move rooms the first night she could do nothing.” My wife and daughter stayed with a friend because ever morning they woke up with sore throats. I was told the general manager would be there on Monday at 6am. I was going to leave at 5 to drive back to Richmond. So I waited and at 6 the front desk person, Very friendly told me that she didn’t come in till after 8:30. I left my number for her to call me when I was in my car. I call back at 2pm and she had left for the day. Left my number again and had never heard back from anyone. I was staying for graduation week and the rates were over $350 a night. Very frustrating. Gold member from Hilton.

A man and woman used a key and came walking into our room. When they saw us they turned and ran. Turns out he was with maintenance and was cooking chicken nuggets in our room. No knock first. Manager “ counseled” him. Beware! Unsafe for us and him

I was in a King room. My main complaints with the room are design issues. First, the shower head is so high that you must be at least 5'8 or higher to adjust it. I am 5'4" and I needed about 6 more inches to adjust it. Luckily it was on a setting I could deal with. The toilet was running as fast as it could when I got there. Maintenance looked at it and we got that stopped, but the handle continued to stick. The shower dripped all night. There was no bath mat in the bathroom. The room itself is DARK. Even with all of the lamps on, the room is dark with lots of shadows. I realize a lot of folks don't like overhead lights anymore, but this room was begging for it. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows - notsomuch. I liked the furnishings! Hampton needs to take a look at some of these things as they're adjusting their designs in the future. Breakfast was great as usual!

I was traveling home to alabama from a long overseas trip after landing in Atlanta. It was after midnight and I didn't think it was safe for me to drive any further. Being by myself I wanted and safe and convenient place to stop-and found it at the Hampton Inn in Opelika. Check in was efficient and I climbed into a VERY comfortable bed. After a good night's sleep and an excellent breakfast, I drove home. It was a great place to make a break in my journey.

The staff and grounds were wonderful. We blocked for a NYE wedding and everyone was helpful, friendly and accommodating to us and our guests. Newly renovated rooms were clean and spacious and a great price! A huge thank you to all who made our guests feel so welcome in Opelika!

Don't stay here. Not up to par with Hilton standards. This place is a dump. We booked two rooms here one king room and one 2 queens. When we arrived the front desk advised that our king room was not available due to flooding. So we would have 2 queen only rooms. Once we get to our rooms we realize that one room has a non operational bathroom. The tub would not drain and the toilet would not flush. We called downstairs and they said there was no other rooms available and no one would be able to come fix it till morning when we check out. I asked for a refund and was told there was no manager on duty and i would have to wait till 6 am for that. We had 6 people using the bathroom in one room. 6 am rolls around and the manager who was too busy on a conference call to speak with a guest over a serious issue asked the front desk to offer me a gold member 10k points and no refunds, Unacceptable. The rooms were dirty, and you shouldn't have to pay for a room with no bathroom. Working with Hilton directly and AMEX to get the issue resolved. Will update Update 10/10/22: We have already filed a formal complaint with Hilton customer service directly and are awaiting a response from the Guest Assistance Team. We were told we should have a solution within 5 business days will update again with their response. Update 10/17/22: 3-5 business days have passed and there has been no resolution from Hilton as previously promised. It has been escalated again, the location responded to Hilton's inquiry with bogus claims and flat out lies. Will continue to update on the status.
