Went to GoStops Ooty and they are a big fraud. The reception guy "Sumit" cheated us with the auto guy who asked 1800 to show us 4-5 tourist spots. He said it is the right price but later got to know the maximum price should be 900-1000... Such a scam. Plus there is no convenient refund policy in case u want. Please take a hotel it's much better.

I have been in to many backpackers hostel and this hostel has the worst back packing culture. They allow families to stay and also that too with backpackers in the dorm. It was such a downer. The property is nice. Dorm too but the solo travellers and backpackers find the vibe too dull because there kids and families running around the property. One of the staff was very rude. Overall not a nice place for backpackers.

GoSTOPS OOTY PATHETIC EXPERIENCE!! STRICTLY NOT RECOMMENDED. 1. Located quiet away from the market , road under construction to the stay. Post 7ish one would not find it safe to travel back alone. 2. Defeated the actual experience of the stay at Gostops. To my and few other traveller's surprise there were family and kids staying at the property. This was my first ever gostop/zostel experience where I was surrounded with kids and family. This was a bizard. 3. While we would like you to make money but at the same time would want you to be realistic and work as per industry standards and not just charge this way and spoil the market standards. While the normal charges are approx 500-700 per night I was exborantly charged 2200 per night , I realized the same when my credit card was used and I immediately tried contacting them but there was no response. The number provided goes on to an automated call and all they say is your request is recorded and will get back and they would never get back. This happened with me for almost 3-4 times. When I checked in and asked the receptionist about the high charges he answered that due to heavy demand the rates were increased , like really ? You would see the demand and charge exorbitantly ?????? When we raise a query with Zostel or other places we immediately get a response and the issue is resolved but why not by Gostops ?? 4. My whole experience of a solo travel was spoiled due to the above mentioned things and I claim for a complete refund for this. This is just not accepted. You guys are fooling the traveller's. I have never had such experience during any of my solo travel but this one was the worst ever. @ Pallavi Agarwal Kindly look into it on immediate basis. I would request you to kindly take necessary action and not spoil the experience of traveller's in future. We traveller's come with certain mindset and would not want to go back with such bad experiences.
