梅里丹飯店(Meridian Inn)

En arrivant à 1h30 du matin la communication au téléphone avec le concierge n’est pas des plus facile. On le réveille évidemment et il ne fait aucun effort pour parler clairement à quelqu’un dont la langue de shakespeare n’est pas sienne. Heureusement que le chauffeur du taxi est resté pour me donner un coup de main (lui même semblait avoir du mal à comprendre). Arrivé dans la chambre on trouve un frigo vide, pas même une bouteille d’eau et pas nettoyé. (Draps serviettes et douche corrects)

My flight was late so I arrived at the inn after the lobby was closed. There was a phone there to call and the lady who answered directed me to an envelope with my key and instructions. She was very helpful and pleasant even though it was very late. She told us which was to walk for a late night meal. The inn is a short walk to a nice public beach and to a grocery store and several resturants. The only noise was a rooster in the area somewhere.

Upon entering the room, we were shocked. The property was old and far below expectations from the photos and description online. Although I had called in advance to inform them of our late flight time, no one was on duty upon our arrival, but our driver located an envelope with my name on it and the key inside. We have never stayed anywhere so completely devoid of a sense of security and safety. The kitchenette was extremely old with an old hot plate and a microwave. There was a sign to not operate them at the same time. Initially, the toilet would not flush, but when the plumber arrived, of course it worked. The exterior was lacked lighting. I managed to secure other lodging and we left within hours of arriving. I suppose some might find it all acceptable, but in our opinion, it was not as advertised and was unacceptable. Huge disappointment.

So to be completely honest, when I booked this, I didn’t realise that I was booking an apartment rather than a hotel. It was basic but clean and had sufficient facilities. A little kitchenette area with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and 2 ring hob. The location is good with many eating places within walking distance and a little supermarket close by. If you need a taxi, I would suggest getting front desk to book it for you, you can get one off the street, but they tend to try to fleece you.

Property on the quiet end of the Gap, but still only a 5-10 min walk from everything if you are into the nightlife. Staff very friendly, easy to get out and explore by car from this location

I appreciate the efforts of the same staff to make the guests feel welcome and the reasonable costs of the rooms the room is clean and there was a microwave stove top and basics such as plates cups cutlery etc the area is safe with the beaches within walking distance very pleasant hotel

Love the location, affordability, friendly managment and staff, ease & flexibility of checking in and out. Comfortable Lounge equipped with bathroom; luggage storage. The kitchen could have done with a couple more plates, cups and saucers. Otherwise, we enjoyed the air-conditioned apartment, comfortable beds, clean kitchen. Thanks again.

Location is perfect!! Close to beach, entertainment, food and other activities. Welcoming Receptionist who is very accommodating and quite pleasant. Staff very helpful!! Kudos to Dale
