This is a great place to stay. Its affordable, but clean, nicely presented, has everything you might need, really comfy beds and an awesome shower, and quite close to the centre of town. The host was really nice and helpful with loads of local knowledge. We'll be back!

Checking in with Rick was super easy. So friendly and helpful. Reviewed where we could eat within walking distance and then talked about all the places to visit in the Christchurch area. The room was spacious and clean. Had everything we needed for our stay. We ate a couple of breakfasts and a lunch using the kitchen and it was well appointed. Thanks for all you advice Rick.

We visit Christchurch quite often but this was our first stay at this motel. Its on a main road going into the city and is a fair way for walking into the CBD. Cranford Street becomes Sherborne street as it gets closer to town before intersecting with Bealey Avenue. Our unit was on the first floor at the rear of the property so we did not notice any traffic noise. It was a one bedroom unit but the king size bed was in the main lounge/kitchen/dining and two single beds were in the bedroom. This ended up being our overflow room for our suitcases. It would be a bit crowded for four people for an extended stay. Everything was clean and comfortable; kitchen is kitted out for rustling up a simple meal There is a great butcher shop Peter Timbs, around the corner on Edgeware Road that is worthy of a mention together with the Fresh Choice for stocking up. Service is very friendly and helpful.

This motel is great, had kitchen, small outdoor sitting area and onsite parking. There is a grocery store , butcher, bakery and bottle shop approx 7 min walk. Host Rick was lovely and friendly, made us feel v welcome. Very pleasing stay. Roughly 5 min drive down to city centre.

Awesome motel. Large and extremely clean rooms. Close to the city and shops.Rik the owner is very knowledegable and helpful. He also has a courtesy bus.Rooms have a kitchenet and there is a laundary available. I would give this motel 10 stars if it was possible. Highly recommended.

Arriving in Christchurch with no real plans, I was immediately taken under the wing of Rick and Ricky. I ended up extending my stay in Christchurch because of how good they were to me. From airport transfers, to city drop offs, restaurant recommendations, travel recommendations and being the most decent, lovely, helpful people, I was touched by their kindness. I’m so grateful that my time in Christchurch was spent staying at the Sherborne because it started my love affair with New Zealand and the people in it. I have nothing but gratitude and compliments for Rick and Ricky and the Sherwood.

Great location to everything, very comfortable and spacious with everything we needed for our stay. Friendly and helpful proprietor too!
