What a hidden gem tucked away in the breathtaking mountains of the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe! The service was impeccable — warm, attentive, and personal. A special thank you to the General Manager, Jonathan, who went above and beyond to make my visit special. He took the time to share the fascinating history of the lodge and gave us great tips on everything to see and do in the area. Jonathan, you were absolutely right — that hamburger I had for lunch was the best I’ve ever tasted! It’s incredibly accessible too: just a short one-hour flight from Johannesburg to Harare, followed by a scenic 3-hour drive through the rolling hills of Zimbabwe. What awaits is a peaceful, luxurious retreat that feels like a little piece of heaven. Do yourselves a favour — book now. You won’t regret it!

Inn on the Rupurara has been beautifully renovated by Cresta Hotel. The private villa is tastefully furnished, though chilly in June, (a heater and electric blankets took care of that) and faces a stunning view of the valley. The staff were most friendly and helpful, the food was amazing in a 'fine dining style'. (Would return just for the food!) We did not spend much time in the public areas outside as it was rather fresh, but they looked comfortable and aesthetic. There are also activities one can do, and a guide was offered to us, but we elected not to- was our honeymoon trip ;) Would highly recommend staying here.

Had an amazing experience during the business workshop held in May 2025. The staff was amazing and attended to everyone professionally. The food was great and different, a bit too sweet in some areas but generally worth the bite. Any special meals could be requested and the chef is on stand by to make it happen for the guests. The manager is always around to make sure all is well and functioning properly.

Perfect location to be away from everything else and be in harmony with nature . There had been a lot of work put in renovating the place giving it a timeless look and feel .

Everything about the Rupurara Valley Lodge was superb. We were warmly welcomed by Patience and Mthokozisi and shown to our beautifully decorated room to enjoy the spectacular views. Sumptuous features like heated blankets and crisp linen added a very personal touch. The food was out of this world, smaller portions allowed us to enjoy multiple courses and all of it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The service by Rufaro and Nyarie was exceptional, representing all that is great about warm Zimbabwean hospitality. All of this rounded out by the legendary Paddington who took us on the most amazing bird walks and sundowner experience on the top of a hill.
