The local dance performance was exciting and thrilling! The room was large and comfortable, but the bathroom window was not closed tightly, and many insects flew in when the lights were on at night.

The cabins at this place are nicely appointed, spacious, comfortable and have a sitting room with fireplace, foyer room, big modern bathroom and a great bedroom. The lanai (roofed patio) behind overlooks incredible Nyungwe area scenery and has flowering bushes that attract lots of sunbirds. At night the staff brings hotwater bottles to put in the bed and warm your feet. The food is excellent and staff are very attentive and helpful. All speak English. They sometimes bring a local cultural performer group up if cabins are mostly full. The only downside at all are the steep steps up to the restaurant on the second level. Those are challenging as we get older. We have stayed here many times, weeks at a time while doing training at Nyungwe. It is always a great place to stay for all the reasons above. We also have brought ten friends for ecotours on this recent trip and two previous trips and they loved it.

We mostly loved our stay here. Friendly staff all around. The bungalows were spacious and the views and grounds were amazing. All of our meals here were delicious and Jean de Amour was a wonderful host throughout all of our meals over four days. We can't thank him enough for his attentiveness. Our boots and gaiters were cleaned which was much appreciated. We absolutely loved the large covered veranda and spent most of our free time out on it watching the birds live their lives. The only two downsides we felt were that although the room was spacious and the fire lit in the room was wonderful, we only took advantage of it one night because the couch in our room was so incredibly uncomfortable that we couldn't really use it. We are convinced it must have just been made for a move set or something (last unit at the end facing west). We thought the room rules were a little strict. We would have loved to enjoy a glass of wine or beer on our lovely veranda in the evenings, but we couldn't unless we paid for room service. We hadn't run across that anywhere else. There was a fridge in the room, but with no outside food or drink and room service fees to bring anything from the dining room to one's room, we weren't exactly sure what the use of it was. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would return.

We stayed here for two days while visiting Nyungwe National Park. Comprising of 12 mini apartments, the rooms are tastefully decorated with a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. There is also a lovely veranda where you can watch the birds and look out over the national park. Meals are provided in the main building - you need to order in advance. Breakfast has plenty of choices and can be eaten outside with great panoramic views. There are limited choices for vegetarians and each meal has a very substantial carb element but everything is freshly cooked. A packed breakfast is available for early starts. The staff are very friendly and helpful - they make the restaurant and engage throughout the meal.

I don't think you could find a more sweet, attentive and hardworking staff than those at Nyungwe Top View Hotel! We had to leave our hotel at 5 am for our Chimpanzee Trek, and the staff made sure our breakfast was packed at 4:30 am to take with us!! They also made sure we had enough time to have some coffee before we left by surprising us with some at our door. The views at the hotel quite frankly can't be beat, just absolutely beautiful. They also bring hot water bottles for your bed at night as it does get quite chilly. We had such a great time, it was really nice to come back to this hotel after a physically demanding hike! A huge thank you to the staff for helping us create such wonderful memories in Nyungwe National Park.

We stayed 1 night at Hill Top View. The positive - cottages were very clean with a hot shower. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a hot towel, fresh squeezed juice and a cookie. Dinner and breakfast was a great buffet spread and they even packed us a boxed lunch for the road. We ordered the lunch the night before from a limited menu but it was tasty and plentiful. Location was easy to get to chimpanzee trek and canopy walk. They even cleaned our muddy boots for us after the trek. They looked brand new after they finished. We just added an additional tip for the amazing staff. Would definitely recommend a stay here. The negative - I can’t think of anything negative to say. Except there are multiple stairways so may not be a good choice if you have mobility issues.
