A fantastic property, felt very much welcomed and we're given an upgrade too which was very welcome. Bar was reasonably priced for drinks but food was as expected in a hotel, pricier than the local area. The hotel doesn't feel luke a traditional Holiday Inn, feels like the hotel needs to be upgraded a level as the staff (especially Dominik) were great and the amenities with the exception of missing a pool were fantastic. Little gripes; only one key available for the room and when we were trying to check out - the night manager seemed to be struggling with a departure and didn't even acknowledge those of us waiting so ended up just dropping the key as we had an early train to catch.
Seeing how my money was taken and never have I received any response, I guess I am entitled to leave my honest review about this place. My unfortunate happening with this hotel was that our flight has been cancelled 2 days before the booking made with Intercity hotel, so surely as soon as we found out that our flight wasn't taking place, we communicated this information to Booking as well as Intercity hotel. After a lot of 'hin und her' with Booking I found out that Booking is only the third party and that they are unable to cancel the booking, so we needed to sort things out with the hotel. 2 of my emails have been answered by Intercity, offering me no logical explanation for why they will not cancel, the only reason being that 'policy requires customers to let the hotel know 3 days prior that they will be cancelling otherwise you pay the full amount of your stay' - no explanation behind this reasoning, no logic no nothing. I only asked this location why they are charging 5 nights worth of stay since I let them know 2 days before that I won't be there? It seemed logical - based on THEIR policy - that the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th night was being announced 3 days and more than 3 days prior to our arrival, so why would you charge me all 5 nights for this? I only asked for a logical explanation, to me and according to other Booking policies which I have witnessed in the past, if you miss your entire trip you only pay the first night, MAXIMUM. What bothers me is that I sent reminders and emails and this hotel chooses to completely ignore my questions- they don’t respond to their emails, they don’t redirect you, they do not offer a logic explanation and they do not get in touch with booking or their collaborator to help you out and that is more than enough reasoning for me to not recommend them and make sure everyone I get in touch with knows who they are. I know in this case the flight company should have reimbursed us for our loss, but given that the flight company has cancelled one month worth of flights, I doubt that we will even get compensation for our loss, not to mention the hotel being paid. When your flight is being cancelled, given that you are still announcing your cancellation prior to your booking, I would only expect a smooth communication with the hotel where you would be staying. Please be careful with Intercity hotel because if they charge you 10 nights, you will pay those 10 nights even though you don't honour them and I highly doubt that they won't free that room to have some extra income on it. Very disappointed for this place not taking responsibility at all for what happened.Seeing how my money was taken and never have I received any response, I guess I am entitled to leave my honest review about this place. The service was top notch, especially from the night team at the front desk, who helped out with extra bed linen at a late hour. The room was perfect: quiet, dark, cool and with high quality beauty products in the bathroom. Breakfast was a near-perfect, but would have been on top had the bacon been thin (instead of thick stripes…). A role model hotel, would love to have another stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Novotel Nuernberg Centre Ville, which is an excellent choice for Nuremberg. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the train station and also very close to the Old Town. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and immediately offered to send us complimentary capuccinos as the coffee machine in our room did not work. The room was spacious and the layout worked well. Everything was clean as one would expect. Although small, the swimming pool was also a pleasure. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and in Nuremberg.
HH MatthiasMelter was the best place I stayed in throughout my Germany trip. It was in the centre of the old town, right above the Lorenzkirche U-bahn, 3-5 mins walk from the Hauptbahnof, and only steps away from everything you might need - bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and all the highlights. It's a 10-15 min slightly uphill but beautiful walk to the Castle.
The property was extremely beautiful, spotlessly clean, and stylish. Was given an upgrade by Jacqueline (or Jackie) to a studio with a kitchenette overlooking a quaint street; good for cooking. Spacious room, comfortable bed, and beautiful bathroom with nice soaps. Only complaint could be that some rooms (216-219) are not accessible by lift, and require a winding (confusing at first) walk through long corridors to reach, but it was OK for me. Laundry room also had detergent provided; gym was adequate. Did not have breakfast, but had lunch twice at Monki downstairs - impeccable ramen.
Overall, this would be a great choice when in Nuremberg. Affordable, beautiful, comfortable, and convenient; and lovely staff - everyone of them took great care of me. Even granted late checkout. Will highly recommend this place.
Mmunich_wandererIf anyone knows the Hotel B B chain, they know what to expect. Its a room with reasonably comfy beds, a bathroom with decent shower but beyond that theres not many bells and whistles. Checkin was quick and friendly, just needed to sign the form and then got the room code. We had a tripple on the top floor with 3 proper beds (no sofa bed for the extra bed) and couldnt believe how spacious it was. We didnt get breakfast (knew there'd be late nights and sleep-ins!!) there so cant comment on that. The location is on a main road around the city centre, a short walk from the station, literally right by a u bahn, and youre across from the city walls and beyond that the shopping corner of the old town. So, the location isnt magical but being on the ubahn to the airport and a walk from the station, and on the road network, makes it a very practical choice. (its also across the road from the german national railway museum- so you can visit that very easily!) One of the reasons we went for this hotel was the parking, but on our late arrival there was no spaces left. Luckily theres a massive car park a couple of 100 metres down the road which is only €6 per 24 hours at the weekend so it was barely an issue in the end that the hotel parking was full.
Hotel just outside south of city walls. Positive points - room good size and comfortable beds. Shower hot (strange 2 door entrance). Staff very friendly and helpful. Very satisfying breakfast with cereals, fruit, full English, German bread and ham, selection of cakes and bread. Hôtel can provide 2 day public transport pass for 11.20 Euros per person at time of writing which is very good deal. Great transport connections with S-Bahn and U-Bahn very close and tram stop 2 minutes away. Negatives - street outside very dirty and just near car park. Not clean streets. However very easy access to town just be careful to go in via Plarrer metro entrance to avoid Frauentormaeur. Overall a very positive stay.
The location is both bad and good; too close to railway line and traffic for comfort but convenient when traveling. The hotel itself has a rather cumbersome layout since it consists of 3 (or 2, I'm not sure) different but connected buildings which makes finding your rooms a bit f a challenge. It is also in need of some upgrading. Rooms are ok but not very charming. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment; the famous bratwurst was lacking 2 out of 3 mornings and the food selection was limited. That was the negatives, then the positives; very helpful staff, high hygienic standard, easy check-in/out, quick taxi service and an absolute decent restaurant. The place has little charm but it works. Finally, the cost was Eur 255 Including breakfast) per night which I feel is really too high for a hotel this standard but it was during the IWA exhibition when prices tend to rise to the unacceptable levels.
