I stayed for a week in December. This was the nearest place I could book online to where I was working. The rooms are bungalow type units. There are 20 rooms split across 10 units. The room I had was quite clean with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, fridge and pretty good bathroom. There was always hot water available in the shower. Internet was good and fast in the room and in public areas. I ate at the hotel each night. The quality and range of food was very good. They also have some nice smoothie type drinks which are freshly made. Service by the waiters could be better though. You tend to feel invisible and have to get their attention. Like all of the staff, they are very kind and friendly. I don't think they get many international visitors yet and certainly not many who want to pay by credit card. They had to charge the card machine before it could be used and then they did not know what currency it used. We did get it right after a few attempts. The hotel is a bit of a building site at present. They appear to be building a proper reception block and it looks like there will be more rooms in there. Being on the beech is nice. There are people selling camel/horse rides on the beach. I did see a few people swimming though the water is not particularly warm. Also some people drive their SUV's or motor bikes along the beach which is a shame. I had intended to swim on my last day, nut a dust storm put paid to going outside. If I return to Nouakchott I would most likely stay here again.
