We stayed for one night in the Dairy rooms. The room was warm and inviting with a lovely shower room. The bed was comfortable and good facilities. We had the three course dinner and breakfast package. The restaurant is very pleasant being located upstairs in the Dutch barn. Really delicious food with two extra pre menu courses included. The cured trout starter was particularly good. All the dishes were well presented with good attention to detail and excellent fresh ingredients used. The front of house staff were all very friendly and attentive, with good knowledge of the dishes being served and also the wines on the menu. I would recommend. The reception staff were also very friendly and for the whole stay we were made to feel very welcome and were served lovely food. Thank you, we will visit again in the future.

One night stay. Very friendly reception when we arrived. We booked luxury room. The room was smaller than anticipated. But bed and linen was lovely and crisp Very warm in the room but there was a fan Lovely 3 course dinner and service was excellent. My asparagus /egg starter could have been cooked more. But everything else was tasty

As a treat, we visited Eckington Manor restaurant for a 3 course meal. I have experienced fine dining on many occasions but this fell short of any previous experiences. The restaurant is dimly lit which isn’t a problem but it lacks atmosphere, feeling cold and more like a canteen. There is no table linen and the napkins are paper, albeit good quality. The restaurant overlooks a car park so nothing nice to look at. The food was very underwhelming, quite bland and the portion size was adequate for a child. With good quality ingredients, even though the portion size was small, I would expect to feel satisfied. We left the restaurant feeling hungry and disappointed. We were offered complimentary tea/coffee but I’m sorry that felt like an empty gesture.

We stayed at Eckington manor recently attending the cooking school in the day with the seven course tasting meal on the evening things started really well we were greeted by extremely friendly staff and made our way upstairs to start our class which I can say was superb and great value for money And this is when our positive experience ended after the class we made our way to our room which was comfortable and clean but very basic and out dated and is not what you would expect for a £200 a night room especially after upgrading I’d hate to see what the basic rooms are like Next we made our way to the bar but only had one drink as the bar was freezing cold being downstairs and by the door with most of the people in there wearing coats We returned later on for a seven course meal in the restaurant which was also freezing cold after us asking to have the heating turned up (other guests also asking) i decided to go back to the room to change into warmer clothes with my partner putting her coat on the food came and was bland and poorly cooked making it impossible to understand how on earth this is a Michelin guide restaurant is baffling in short the food wasn’t inedible just very poor for the price they are charging The final straw came when having breakfast the morning after I had the full breakfast again with my coat on and all I can say is awful and quite possibly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had Luke warm coffee and cold egg brought to a close what has been a terrible experience and absolutely not value for money after expressing our disappointment with our waiter and also when checking out we were met with ohh that’s such a shame and it is a shame as we won’t be going back again

The website for Eckington Manor is misleading. The “hotel” has no connection to the actual Manor House other than sharing a car park. The actual Manor House is rented long term to a family. We saw them bringing the children home from school. This place is not a hotel, it’s more a motel and we can’t understand the reviews as being about this place. The “hotel” is made up of guest rooms in the outbuildings and the reception area (a desk in the doorway), restaurant (uninviting room upstairs in prefab building) and bar are all across the gravel carpark in the industrial unit. Pros - The rooms are clean The staff friendly Cons We were hoping for a 2 night stay of fine dining and relaxation in a beautiful setting. Neither happened due to lack of outdoor seating that wasn’t overlooking the car park, no relaxing bar area, a weird and uninviting restaurant on the first floor of the prefab and a guest suite that wasn’t comfortable to spend time in. The bed was so hard we didn’t sleep at all and checked out of our 2 night stay after 1 night. The food at dinner was fine but didn’t wow and the wine choice poor. We’d hoped for more with the hype of a chef who’s a Masterchef winner. Breakfast was as poor, where was the sour dough, avocado, fresh pastries etc? Also, who sets breakfast to be between 8am to 9am when guests may want to eat slightly later. We are still puzzled by the whole experience and on how this place keeps the good reviews and star rating.
