We have stayed in many previous chain hotel/motels now owned by a private individual and had no problems. But when i asked the check-in clerk if it was owned by an individual or not, he got really rude. Then I asked about the advertised breakfast, he "No, for what you paid, you can afford to go out and eat." After those two statements, I asked for a refund to go somewhere else. He refused a refund. The room was good, clean and of course old but nice and comfortable. Everything worked, except the Wi-Fi was very slow. So between a close walk to Taco Bell for dinner and McDonald's for breakfast, we survived.
