This is my second time stayed at Kamala House. The place are CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. I've often stayed in cabin hotels. Kamala House is the best by far. There's only drawback that the location is a little bit far from the central city like Malioboro. But, because of this, the quiet atmosphere adds its own value. Thank You Kamala for making me sleep tightly.

It has been such a long time since I rent the dorm style backpackers hostel. When I separated with my family who went back home earlier, I moved from the other 5 star hotel in Malioboro area and checking in to this amazing Backpackers Hostel in Godean area. It was as good, even better than the picture. All the rooms were so clean and spotless. The receptionist was very thoughtful and helpful. Although no elevator but he helped me to bring my suitcase upstairs. I was placed in mixed dorm room but I was alone. The other (male) guests were downstairs. It was very nice, it seemed like renting a private place with bargain price. The AC was cool, the shower room and toilette were clean. The wifi was good. Cafe and warung and restos are nearby. Supermarket is in walking distance. I strongly recommend this hostel to the fellow backpackers!

Kamala House was just a perfect stay! Very clean rooms and bathrooms and super comfy beds! Nice space to hang around also with workdesk. Super friendly staff. Parman was always ready to help us with everything, answered all our questions in how to get around the best way, helped me with getting a local SIM card and gave us tips where to get good local food. If I ever come back to Yogyakarta I will definitely stay here again! Thanks for a great stay! :)

Felt very welcome at Kamala house! The hostel is very clean. The beds are really comfortable with a curtain. The staff was very friendly. Parman shared a treasure trove off information about visiting Yogya. The location is not right next to Malioboro Street, but it's still walkable or you can go by bus or taxi. It's not a party hostel, but a great place to relax and explore Yogya. Less nice for me as a solo traveller was that there were not many backpackers at the hostel. I don't know why, maybe I just have bad luck.

Our check-in was seamless with the aid of friendly staff who all spoke great English. We were in a 4 bed dorm which was great: clean sheets, a small shelf with strong/ ambient lighting for each pod, a shutter to pull down if you want privacy, or cut out the light from the room. We felt safe with keys for a draw and locker each so we could leave valuables. Everyday a cleaner would change our towel and bedsheets which made a lovely difference after walking all day in extreme heat. They have a communal area to meet fellow travellers, call home etc on very comfy chairs with food utensils and cold and boiling water which was nice when I needed a pick-me-up midnight noodle feast! Breakfast was as easy and saved money. Parma - the supervisor was more than helpful, messaging us information about options to eat out, local transport (free buses) and even offered to walk us to the pick up points to help send us on our way. Another example of his kindness was after giving permission, him taking our laundry to clean while we were in the city (we didn’t have time to do it anywhere else). So while we were out, Parma and his staff kindly prioritised our washing to be done before we left early the next morning for a very good price as well. A great place to stay when visiting Yogyakarta!

Amazing hostel with staff that goes above and beyond. Got a free ride to the train station at 4:30 am in the morning to just so i could catch my train! Location is also really good and close to restaurants and supermarkets. If you go to yogya stay at this hostel you wont regret it!
