We were at first disappointed that we were unable to find a spot on Muri beach a popular spot on the island due to the beautiful beaches. But once we checked into Ocean Escape we were glad to be here! The property is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and there were no crowds! This adult only boutique hotel has 14 rooms. Often times were the only ones on the beach or at the pool. The beach is a bit rocky and the waves break about 50 yards from shore but the waves are magnificent to watch. We saw whales breaching right off the breaks. The shore abounds with shells and coral. The sunrises were breathtaking! The staff were all very friendly. Elaine is at the front desk and can arrange just about anything for you! She helped change a flight for us and even mailed my postcards on her way to town! She is fabulous! Poko the bartender at the hotels Topas lounge is fun and charming and makes the yummiest drinks. A true mixologist! I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re planning a stay on Rarotonga.

Such a well thought out boutique resort. We were so pleasantly surprised with all of the little touch points. The rooms are literally 10/10. Everything we could think of needing, and maximised every little inch of space. •Walk out to your own sun lounger and access to the pool. •If you feel like it lift the lid of your table beside your sun lounger and fill it with ice and drinks. •Big cabana with help yourself library •4pm stroll up stairs to BJ’s for happy hour cocktails (best we’ve had in Raro) •6pm order some Tapas •8pm go where the night takes you… Morning, sunrise and if you are lucky with passing whales… Oh, and friendly service with genuine care for your stay. Day 1, we had wine by the pool, made a cheese board and a sneaky treat of Whittaker’s chocolate all from our room supplies. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✅✅✅✅✅ 10/10

I actually struggle writing this review. I would prefer to keep this place our secret but the resort truly deserves a great review. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. I believe Barry (the owner) told me that he and his wife have traveled extensively and made note of all the things they think could have done better and incorporated that in their resort. It shows!! They make you feel like family and so welcome. We stayed at 5 resorts in Roratonga in April 2024 and Ocean Escapes was by far our favorite. We have already booked our next visit and would highly recommend this resort to adult couples, honeymooners and anyone over 16. The only negative is the beach is not ideal for water activities but there are so many public beaches on the Island it was not an issue for us. The plus side to that is no one else uses the beach!

Loved the hotel, very clean, amazing welcome package. Made even better by Elaine and Barry who were on top of everything. The swimming pool was superior as there no nasty cleaning product smells and it was perfect to relax in your little cabana. The food was delicous and the cocktails second to none.I also had a perfect massage with Anna, who really took care of me. I am definately returning (and will be booking directly as the travel agent really screwed me this time). The only small thing people should be aware of is the location is not on the reef side of the island, meaning you can't really swim that well on the beach.

Excellent stay, friendly and accommodating staff, particularly the owners and managers, Jade, Barry, and Elaine, who provide exceptional service, the modern and well-appointed villas with numerous thoughtful extras and luxurious amenities, the stunning pool area, the on-site tapas bar, and the relaxing spa services. While the beach is not ideal for swimming, its proximity to the ocean offers beautiful views, and a local general store provides convenient access to supplies. Would highly recommend . Andy & Cathy

This resort is not only beautiful, the attention to detail and the focus on guest experience is outstanding. The villa's are clean, modern and equipped with every amenity you need. The owners and staff are friendly, attentive and helpful, making sure you have everything you need for your stay! The cocktails in the tapas bar are delicious as are the small plates. It is a peaceful and relaxing stay and we highly recommend a trip to Ocean Escape.
