The room is just normal, just enable to live. But the breakfast is extremely simple and not delicious. Some people was burning stuff all the time next to beach and very bad smell all over. Equipment was like from last century and worn out. We were kept waiting for 2 hrs when checking-in, not any good service was offered. The reception also has very rude disrespectful attitude when checking out, I will never come to this resort anymore and waste money on this rubbish resort, too much unworthy compared to the other 2 resorts. You can definitely find better places with much less cost.

My partner and I are a young couple from New Zealand. We have visited Rarotonga four times but this was our first time staying at any of the Moana Sands accomodation. We stayed for three nights in a deluxe garden view room. The room was immaculate, clean and very spacious with modern amenities. The room itself reminded me of an upmarket hotel room you would find in New Zealand. It is worth noting that the feel of the resort was slightly commercialised compared to other accomodation we have stayed at in Rarotonga but that is expected with it being part of the Moana Sands group. The staff were nice and pleasant but perhaps not as friendly as some you would find at more boutique accomodation. The view from the room, dining area and pool is beautiful and the gardens are well kept as is the whole premises as a whole. We found that it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing at the resort. From what we saw we were some of the youngest guests there being in our late 20’s with a majority of the patrons being of an older demographic. However, as a young couple it was still enjoyable. The beach the resort is located on is a more rocky stretch of beach not as ideal for swimming as other parts of the beach on the island. We did have an enjoyable kayak out towards Muri Lagoon during our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Moana Sands Lagoon Resort and would recommend it to anyone looking for quiet, relaxing stay in Rarotonga.
