Porth Veor Manor, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

ROOMS are basic both of mine were thick in dust with the blind damaged.Avoid room 24 no wifi at all. Cleaning was very poor. Bathroom was adequate although the complimentary shampoos and shower gel were not replenished. I found this hotel to be on par with fawlty towers although at least you got to giggle with Basil fawlty. Despite raising the issues with the reception staff several times and one other they did nothing about it and I had to force the issues to get any action. Breakfast was OK but they still got the order wrong on the occasion I took breakfast. Dated , dreary and unfriendly I would hate to have been here during peak season. Lastly there is no phone signal on any network. Not recommended and would avoid the Porth Manor like the plague.

This was an amazing Hoyle location was amazing just right for family beach holiday great views. Hoyle is in amazing conditions staff brilliant and friendly. Has its own path to the beach and breakfasts amazing and Carter’s for Gluten free. Kids loved it

Wir hatten ein Superior Doppelzimmer gebucht. Für zwei Personen war unser Zimmer inkl. Badezimmer aber viel zu klein und nicht sauber. Das Bett war 160x200 cm, der Kleiderkasten zu klein (ca. 60 cm breit mit 7 Kleiderbügeln) für die Kleider von zwei Frauen für eine Woche Aufenthalt. Zimmer und Bad wurden, trotz Reklamation, die ganze Woche nie geputzt. Es wurde auch immer nur die Decke über das ansonsten nicht gemachte Bett gezogen. Im Badezimmer fanden wir noch eine grössere Glasscherbenund an einem Nachttischchen waren noch Ketchupresten vom Vorgänger. Auf dem Balkon standen noch drei leere Weinflaschen und ein kaputtes Glas. Dies wurde, auf unsere Aufforderung hin, dann entsorgt. Kaffeekapseln wurden nie ergänzt und das Duschmittel nie nachgefüllt. Einzig die Frottewäsche wurde jeden Tag gewechselt, da keine Möglichkeit bestand, diese aufzuhängen. Das Personal im Frühstückstraum war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das kontinentale Frühstück war sehr einfach. Vom Personal der Reception wurde man nicht gegrüsst (löbliche Ausnahme eine ältere Dame an unserem letzten Ferientag) und es war auch nicht hilfsbereit bei Reservationen von Restaurants für die Nachtessen. Obwohl das Hotel sehr schön und die Lage optimal und sehr ruhig ist, können wir es leider nicht weiter empfehlen.

Just home from a lovely stay at the Porth Veor Manor Hotel. Great views, comfy superking bed, large ensuite with shower. Very clean and fresh room on the 2nd floor (meant we got our daily exercise as there is no lift) but if we'd needed any help we could have asked. Delicious breakfast and friendly helpful staff. It's a bit of a shame they don't offer any evening meals, but there are various places to eat within the area, and we were aware of this when we booked. We enjoyed our stay and would return if we are back in the area.

Pleasently surprised at how nice this hotel was for the price. It was very clean everywhere. Our room was large and well furnished and comfortable with a large ensuite with a walk in shower. We were on the second floor and there is no lift but the staff did offer to help with our luggage. Have not stayed in a Best Western before but was very impressed.

What we liked: clean hotel, helpful staff, good location. What we didn't like: the wifi was bad. The first night we had no wifi, after that the signal was weak, and you had to wait a couple of minutes for pages to load. There is no lift, so carrying heavy luggage up the stairs can be a pain.
