Had a wonderful weekend, the hotel is fantastic and will definitely stay again. On arrival I was upgraded and the reception staff was really welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was wonderful, lovely views and very comfortable and clean, the whole hotel was beautiful and the views spectacular. The hot tub with epic sea views and the very relaxing pool area were fantastic. Parking and location were ideal and the bar area was also wonderful. Very much looking forward to visiting again.

This is an old hotel and needs a facelift, and yet it is rather charming in an old fashioned way. The main attraction is the dramatic setting, on the headland across from the bay in Newquay. The hotel is surrounded by the sea on three sides and has a stunning view of the town from the front porch. My room had a beautiful view of the sea and the beaches of Newquay. The indoor pool has a hot tub, sauna and steam room… and the outdoor pool looks out on the sea. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. I will return.

Overall, most of the staff are very attentive and friendly, however, the lift was broken during our three day stay, They didn't give any compensation for this and when we questioned the situation (as i have a disability and we were on the 2nd floor), the receptionist said that we can cancel if we don't want to stay due to the issue (we had nowhere else to go), but it is very evident that the staff are trying their best! It's due to the lack of management. I feel that it is wrong expecting their guests to stay and paying the best part of £1100 for 3 days without the "4 star* service which we pay for. Not much maintenance going on there either. Its a shame really, as we truly use to love The Atlantic Hotel. We got married there. We have heard that it has been sold and soon will be under new management. We can only hope that the new owners would give this beautiful building the love it deserves!!!!

Good and bad points. I’ll start with the good Mia & Nina on reception we’re amazing. Lobby, reception and downstairs areas amazing, as were staircase and corridors. Stunning location and views. Bad Lift broken and we were on third floor. They did offer to move us, but we declined. Handymen working in hotel carried out cases up the three floors. Then we got in our room. The heat was unbearable. All windows wide open and just no air. Fan supplied was just blowing heat about. In end went to reception and asked to be moved. Nina sorted this straight away and we were given upgraded rooms on 2nd floor. Rooms so much better, but very tired for the money. We had room only and when we found out breakfast was £22/person, we declined this and ate in the town as much cheaper. We didn’t eat in the restaurant so can’t comment on that. However we did return one evening at approx 9pm to have coffee and drinks before bed, only to find the bar all locked up and the coffee machine switched off. The bar staff were quick enough to open it all back up, but did advise that the coffee machine would take 10 minutes to heat up? We were astonished at this as you were just not being enticed to spend your money in the hotel? Also you cannot get snacks during the day. Nothing available until after 5pm. Such a shame, We don’t feel the cost of the room reflects the service available. Spa was ok, outdoor pool ok, but very tired. Very mediocre and will not return.

Lift was out of service and a long way to the 3rd floor. Fridge in the room was broken allowing all my food to go bad. No compensation was offered and on one of the hot days of the year the room was warm with no cold drinks

Everything is just perfect in this hotel, warm and cozy rooms, sauna and swimming pool, bar and restaurant. I especially like the location! Friendly staff, they immediately sent an apology message about the elevator not working)) but the staff helped with things upstairs) we are bikers, we travel everywhere in the world with one night stopover)))

We stayed for one night at the end of March. We had a good room, and lovely breakfast. We ate in the hotel in the evening where the girls seemed very over stretched. We waited for our booked table, we waited to be served a drink whilst we were waiting for our table. Once seated at our table, we waited again for someone to take our order. The order was placed only for one of the girls to come back and apologise that a chosen dish was not available. We waited again for our starter which was smoked mackerel pate, olives and salad leaves, and bread. On being given our starter, I was surprised to see only two olives. I didn’t question at the time as the girls had been working extremely hard and seemed stressed. On reflection, once home, I queried this starter but the manager stated it didn’t include olives. If you look at the starter menu today, it clearly does. Whilst this is a very trivial matter, I feel misled at the cost of £13.50 for this starter. We probably would not stay again.

Decided to book for a cheeky trip away with my husband over bank holiday weekend last minute. Chose the Atlantic Hotel as it had a spa, but to be honest we paid next to nothing so wasn’t expecting very much. We had a wonderful time and were very impressed by the building, the facilities, the staff and the food. On arrival our room wasn’t ready, however the lovely lady on reception made sure we were comfortable in the bar and got us a complimentary drink - which was a lovely touch we thought. We paid £15.50 extra for breakfast each and it was very much worth it..cereal, continental selection and a variety of cooked dishes on an all you can eat basis..the view from the dining room was lovely. The room was huge with a separate bath and shower, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, large TV and balcony. Very clean. Wasn’t a sea view but was nice to look out over the town. Bed was so comfortable, we both slept really well. Was able to book in with the beauty therapist for a massage with less than a hours notice and it was absolutely wonderful, highly recommend using her if you can - the QR code to book is in reception and in your room. Pool is lovely and wasn’t busy. Knocking one point off as the jacuzzi was rubbish and steam room was out of order. Will definitely revisit in future, we’re not too far away so will be sure to pop down again when we’re in need of a little R&R.

We booked two nights and given he key to our room and directed to it. It was on the second floor and as we got to the first floor the 'handyman' offered to take our luggage up for us. We didn't need this but the life was not working so he offered. The room was not what we had paid for, we were expecting a sea view, so I called down to reception and it was changed. The room was a suite but there were no windows in the bedroom or bathroom but ti was pleasant enough. It was room 10. The bar man was new that day and went over and above to source a pot of tea from the bar as there was only coffee available. He was very personable, whilst remaining professionalism. The pool had one changing room and one shower. I didn't realise there was a key code until I got there so had togo back to the reception. I had treatments in the spa and the lady was excellent. The only issue was that the treament room was hot and needed a fan to keep cool, on a cold and blustery day in March! The pool was under the room and very hot. Despite this, we had a pleasant time, but wanted to raise the points in case theywoul affect other guests. The main complaint is that I was not able to find my boots when I arrived home. I sent 5 emails to the hotel to ask about them but had one response to say they would let Housekeeping know. Unfortuanately, three emails later over several days, and I am yet to get a response. Thankfully they have been located elsewhere.....a response either way would have been the right thing to do, rather than ignore me.
