格爾福飯店(Hotel Giraffe by Library Hotel Collection)

Vi blev rigtig glade for Hotel Giraffe, og vi glæder os til at vende tilbage. Personalet var søde og yderst hjælpsomme. Vi kunne godt lide indretningen og stilen på værelset. Det var dejligt med de grønne indslag, både i vasen og som potteplante - det ses sjældent på hotelværelser, men det gav en dejlig stemning. Der er en 24/7 snack station i lobbyen med kaffe/te/vand, frugt, kage etc., som vi var meget glade for. Det var dejligt at kunne tage en kop kaffe og en kage med op på værelset, når man kom hjem på hotellet om eftermiddagen. Vi følte os meget hjemme og har kun gode ting at sige om dette hotel.

The hotel was so good. Staff were really friendly (especially the lovely breakfast lady), the room was amazing and the facilities excellent. All round fantastic hotel and a great experience. Location is also good as nice bars/restaurants around and close to subway station. Stayed in the Sheraton Times Square last time which was awful. Giraffe restored my faith in New York hotels.

I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel. A few days before my chicken, hotel staff contacted me to inquire if I had any special requests. As it happens, I had one request: to be allocated a quiet room, because I am a very light sleeper. I got the response quickly, stating that my ********** booking is limited to a subset of rooms facing the hotel elevators. Needless to say, I had no way of knowing that fact at the time of my booking (note: I did not book the cheapest room available). I responded with this information, asking again for their assistance. When I arrived to the hotel, I requested a quiet room again, and received the same answer (I was also offered a room that the reception desk staff claimed was even noisier). Dip-ointment doesn’t begin to describe my feeling. The room gets noise from the elevator (guests, hotel staff, and suitcases that rattle going in and out). It also gets street noise. The shower wasn’t a great experience either because the shower/tub valve was not functioning properly. And, you can’t switch the light off from bed - need to get out each time. My experience at Giraffe hotel was worse than in most other hotels I stayed at (including 3, 4, and 5 -stars properties).

So this hotel was a nightmare, It is well located and has a nice refreshment bar downstairs, but the room was super dirty, and the blankets and linens were old and kind of stain. The worst happened on the last day of our stay, I found a huge cockroach in the room, and I told the receptionist, and she told me being super carefree, oh I'm sorry... and that was it, nothing else, not even offering to take it out of the room... nothing. I add the picture, this is unacceptable for ANY hotel.

The hotel is beautifully maintained and in an excellent location. The staff is lovely and only too happy to help. I do find that improvements could be made. First off they charge a $25 daily resort fee which I think is more or less a scam considering this is not a resort. I asked what we get for it and they said breakfast and snacks. There is no gym nor pool. The breakfast is really paltry and completely sub par. They serve mini scones danish and croissants. A hard boiled egg and yogurt do not constitute a healthy breakfast nor even a continental breakfast; more like a fattening snack. They also have no business center so don’t plan on printing or faxing. Lastly the room has few outlets available to charge the multiple devices we travel with. It is crazy in this day and age to have no outlet or charging posts on nightstands or desk. They do have an old school clock with an early generation phone dock with to play music taking up the only outlet near a nightstand. If you plan to stay here be sure you bring a charger with multiple USB ports!

We stayed at Hotel Giraffe in the run up to New Year and had a wonderful stay. We found the hotel clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in midtown We were particularly grateful that we were given a late check out (right up until 4pm in fact - the time we were due to leave for the airport) free of charge because my girlfriend had fallen ill and needed a place to rest before our flight. One thing that potential guests may wish to be aware of - the breakfast is advertised as a "light continental breakfast" and it really is that. The food available comprises some pastries, yoghurts and hard boiled eggs but there is no other bread (e.g. to make toast) or cereals. Orange juice and coffee and tea are also provided. On the plus side the hotel leaves out free snacks all day which guests can take as they please (e.g. crisps, energy bars, bananas, bottled water) - we thought this was a really nice touch and given how expensive NYC is we definitely made use of this to keep us going throughout the days of sight-seeing. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the boutique feel of this hotel. The king suite was amazing for a 5 day stay. The location was perfect for our itinerary and was able to walk everywhere we went (though the subway is conveniently 2 blocks away). Neighborhood felt safe and the dining options are plentiful. The room was perfect. Our next trip to Manhattan will include the Hotel Giraffe.

Hotel Giraffe is in a great location close to some of my fav areas of NYC like Flatiron and Gramercy. Our room is much more spacious than any room our family has at any other hotel. We love the cafe area next to the lobby that is self service and open all day - the convenience of getting soft drinks, coffee, tea, fruits, snacks, etc at any time without extra charges. The front desk staff were so genuinely service oriented, efficient and friendly. I had positive experience with each person encountered at the front desk. No doubt we will be back at this family friendly and comfortable boutique hotel. There is nothing I can say that needs improvement.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, but needed a little bit of updating and better shower pressure. We were not a fan of the see-through bathroom door. The online pictures make the hotel look way larger than it is. But that is to be expected and true of most online hotel photos. All employees were pleasant, professional, and eager to assist. It is located in a nice walkable neighborhood. The neighborhood and hotel were nice and calm, compared to the craziness of uptown. But if you like the action of midtown, Hotel Giraffe is a bit far. We really appreciated the light snacks and water available throughout the day. When they say a “light continental breakfast” in the mornings, they do mean light. Just three types of small pastries, yogurt and boiled eggs. We loved the espresso machine. But it did get something in our stomachs before we headed out for the day. Overall a reliable, comfortable hotel. Was expecting to see more giraffe art or references due to the name!
