I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel.
A few days before my chicken, hotel staff contacted me to inquire if I had any special requests. As it happens, I had one request: to be allocated a quiet room, because I am a very light sleeper. I got the response quickly, stating that my ********** booking is limited to a subset of rooms facing the hotel elevators. Needless to say, I had no way of knowing that fact at the time of my booking (note: I did not book the cheapest room available). I responded with this information, asking again for their assistance. When I arrived to the hotel, I requested a quiet room again, and received the same answer (I was also offered a room that the reception desk staff claimed was even noisier). Dip-ointment doesn’t begin to describe my feeling.
The room gets noise from the elevator (guests, hotel staff, and suitcases that rattle going in and out). It also gets street noise. The shower wasn’t a great experience either because the shower/tub valve was not functioning properly. And, you can’t switch the light off from bed - need to get out each time.
My experience at Giraffe hotel was worse than in most other hotels I stayed at (including 3, 4, and 5 -stars properties).
