蒲甘景色飯店

I reserved a full/queen size bed well in advance, and sent out a reminder email 3 days priior to my arrival with late arrival details. There was no acknowledgement from the hotel about my late arrival notice. I was given a twin room. When questioned, the front desk clerk showed her computer monitor saying I reserved a twin room. I showed my reservation confirmation which specifically stated a big bed in a non-smoking room. The clerk changed her tune saying that the hotel was fully booked and that only a twin room was available. I couldn't sleep at night for the feat of falling off the bed. It was very unconfortable. Rate quoted for e-bike rental at the hotel was higher than outside. The pool was in another building across the street. The restaurant was also in another building across the street. Included breakfast wasn't good - noodles, rice....etc. But, the restaurant staff made an extra effort to come up with western food which was a nice gesture.

My husband and I spent two nights in that hotel, we wanted something more authentic and to have more contact with locals, that's why we chose it. Sadly, we made a mistake in doing so and had the worst hotel experience of our lives. First of all, they are bad professionals in the reception and room service. The bathroom was literally disgusting, dirty, didn't work well, the shower was so dirty that no water came out and the curtains were moldy. Internet VERY bad, with constant power outages and VERY limited speed when it did work. Without a doubt the worst thing is that if you are a occidental tourist they literally go and charge you more for the "black market"as they literally said, even if you have a reservation with an international app. Incredible but true, upon realizing that they had charged us double for the stay, we asked for an invoice, up to 5 times and always with excuses and saying that if they did, then we would have to pay an extra 5% for government fees. They never wanted to give us the bill and when they finally gave it to us they told us that they charged more because that hotel freely decided to set the illegal exchange rate they wanted. Furthermore, the receptionist to justify herself said that all the hotels in the Bagan area did it. Please, if you go and you are Western tourists, be careful because in that hotel and in the entire area, in general, they are going to try to scam you.

На все мои вопросы и просьбы (забронировать билеты на местный автобус, организовать трансфер и т.д.) они отвечали быстро и подробно. В принципе, через них можно было арендовать и машину с водителем (это лучший вариант передвижения по Багану, не мучайте себя всякими e-bike), это вышло бы мне дешевле, но я уже заранее оплатила через туристическую компанию. Одним словом, персонал - исключительно вежливый и отзывчивый, очень стараются говорить на английском, можно смело обращаться к ним по любому вопросу Оплату попросила произвести в $, приняли без проблем По приезду сам отель тоже очень понравился: - здание новое , с интересным дизайном, есть внутренний дворик, общие зоны для разнообразного досуга - чистый большой бассейн в 2х минутах, в соседнем отеле - уголок с круглосуточно и безлимитно доступными питьевой водой, кофе, печеньками - на верхнем этаже - большая солнечная терраса, где проходят завтраки и т.д. Воздушные шары по утрам видны, но очень далеко, храмы НЕ видны - сами завтраки, на мой взгляд, больше похожи на обеды - рис, лапша, суп, овощное соте и т.д. Все только вегетарианское, но очень вкусное. Фруктов - оооочень мало, к сожалению. Набор блюд повторяется каждый день Номер: - большой, просторный, соответствует описанию на Booking - хороший бесшумный кондиционер - WiFi быстрый , устойчивый В качестве пожелания - большее количество и разнообразие, лучшее качество (бананы, например, были кормовые, а ананас - испорченный) фруктов, тем более в отстутствие хоть каких-то десертов Периодически отключается электричество, продолжительностью от нескольких секунд до нескольких десятков минут, но это происходило и в других отелях в поездке по Мьянме

Locals, tourists and expats alike all recommended me the famous Bagan View Hotel. In a town containing dozens of other hotels, why did this one get all the praise? The moment I showed up in the lobby, it felt like coming home. After having travelled in a country at war, Bagan View felt like an oasis of peace. And what's more, the building was absolutely stunning, constructed from teak wood and red bricks in the same colour and texture as the temples themselves. Not only were the staff service minded and highly competent, but kind-hearted in a genuine way. And unlike most hotels in Myanmar, the staff were neither submissive nor intrusive, but relaxed and confident, a great relief! Even the other guests, mostly Burmese from Yangon and Shan state, were pleasant people to have around. During a time of war, it is hard to tell the good guys from the bad, but this largely woman-run local business is a confirmed force of good. As confirmed by my contacts within Myanmar's humanitarian sector, unlike many hotels in the country, Bagan View's income does not support atrocity crimes or Chinese business interests, but flows safely into the local community. It is ethical. Some renovation work was taking place during the time that I visited, which meant construction noises from across the street during daytime. It didn't bother me, because I was out exploring temples on an electric scooter that I rented in the reception at a cheap price. There wasn't any point in visiting any other restaurants, because the food was simply excellent. Never mind the 3000 pagodas right outside the door, I would return to Bagan only to stay at this hotel and devour Burmese delicacies from the rooftop.
