Recommended by our travel agent we found the property easy to find with comfortable accommodation and excellent hosts. Located close to Nelson cathedral it is just a short walk into the centre of town. There’s plenty to keep you busy in the local area whether it be by car, bicycle or simply walking. We would definitely stay here again on another visit to Nelson.

Friendly and helpful owners, beautiful garden with plenty of seating areas to catch the sun, curated art and sculpture creating an attractive environment. An inviting path leads us down past native planting to the top garden with its inviting summer house full of comfortable chairs. Then down to the lower garden and the two garden rooms where we are staying - one for dining and lounging, the other for sleeping and showering. Both are delightfully decorated with a curated collection of paintings and pottery. Bed is comfortable and shower has plenty of power and heat. There are lots of reading materials to help plan days out in and around Nelson. Breakfast in the main house is replete with silver and fine china to create the feeling of an English country house weekend. Plus views out the large picture window over Nelson help us feel like princes.

Conveniently located within walking distance of downtown restaurants, Ah house is a delightfully fun, quiet, and relaxing B&B. Everything needed for your stay has been taken care of, and breakfast is wonderful. The hospitality is most sincere and gracious. Loved our visit!

We waited to write this review until we finished our tour of the South Island as it was the best of our trip until then. At the end of our tour of the South Island it was without doubt our favourite accommodation. We stayed in the garden rooms which were extremely comfortable with the separate lounge area. Mark & John refer to the garden rooms as glamorous glamping, which I guess they are, but they are so much more The garden is a great place to relax after mooching round Nelson which is a short walk away. Ideally placed for the great dining options. I doubt there's anything they haven't thought about and they are clearly passionate about providing a first rate stay for every guest. We couldn't fault anything here. Absolutely faultless and we were reluctant to move on. Exceptional. Thanks guys

It‘s a really very nice and cosy place to stay with very nice management team! We enjoyed it very much and had a very good time! Can only suggest for everybody coming to Nelson to stay at this location! Rooms are great with very nice content and are very comfortable!

This little B&B is the best I have EVER stayed! It’s little wonder it’s received so many awards. The hosts, Mark and John could not be more helpful and considerate. Beds 10/10 Breakfast 10/10 Location 10/10 In fact everything about this place is excellent. If you’re near Nelson, book it. You will not be disappointed.

Avery exceptional place and decorated with so much beautiful pottery and plants everywhere you look. But most of all, it’s the wonderful hospitality and great breakfast of Mark and John . Amazing fresh bread every day by John and incredible granola by Mark with lots of choice and fresh fruit. We highly recommend this place and I can see everyone else does too. That’s why we stayed here and we’re very happy. Thanks so much to both of you, Peter and Caroline.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Mark & John's Garden Rooms - a beautiful location, in an interesting garden, within easy walking distance of Nelson itself. Our hosts have thought of everything and nothing is too much trouble for them. The bed is extremely comfortable, the shower powerful, breakfast iss plentiful and tasty and we highly recommend Ah House as a delightful to spend your vacation.

Superb hospitality. Mark and John are great hosts. A beautiful place to stay within in walking distance to the town centre. Everything was immaculate, a comfortable bed and a good hearty breakfast. Will definitely stay at Ah House again next time we are in Nelson.
