Checkout was disrespectful. The bellboy stood over us to make sure he had all hotel wash cloths before we left. He also made a comment about my fiancés locs saying he had to cut his own to work there. I couldn’t believe he said that. We are business owners and spent a lot of money here. To be treated like that my another African is appalling! We are in Kenya! Natural hair is what we have and are supposed to see. That’s such a weird, rude and bizarre thing to say. We can go anywhere. We won’t be back!

Despite seeing other great reviews of this place, our experience was not the best. I accept that we didn't notice the check in time , arriving at 0900 then sitting for three hours waiting for the room to be prepared. I xould have built an apartment in that time. We were not made a priority that morning, being fobbed off by the receptionist several times, claiming we would only have to wait a few minutes. Our teenage children fell asleep in the reception area we waited that long. Once our room was ready, and we were going to the lift, the receptionist asked me to come back to settle the bill. Incompetence. I was not pleased after sitting waiting for 3 hours. The hotel did move breakfast to that morning from the following day, but to be honest, average is being kind. My wife asked for a cheese omelette, only to be told that we would have to pay extra for the cheese. For over 200 gbp, surely the breakfast would be reasonable? But no, very poor selection. The apartment was goid. However, there is a shaft which connects vertically through the apartments down to the ground with windows into each apartment. You can here people in their bathrooms. Also, it let's in a draught which whistles so loudly it kept my children awake, resulting in one sleeping on her mattress on her floor. The lift has a mind of its own. We met a resident who said be prepared to spend 2 years of your life in that lift. He wasn't joking. Personally, the people that work there couldn't care less about us as guests. Thankfully, we only had one night as we were heading to the Masai Mara, but I wish we had gone straight there. Not a great start to our holiday. Go somewhere else, it's too expensive for the treatment , comfort and experience.
