馬亞普爾班格拉索納爾飯店(Hotel Sonar Bangla Mayapur)

Grandiloquent et conçu pour la clientèle aisée indienne qui n’a pas les mêmes exigences que nous : murs tachés, draps douteux, carrelages fendus…aucune des petites attentions à prévoir dans un hôtel de classe, apportez votre eau et votre coca, réclamez le second oreiller et le diffuseur anti-moustiques …

Property is excellent. Room, pool, view everything. But maintenance, management and service at the property is very poor. Cafeteria was closed throughout our 3 days of stay. Staff at reception is not friendly, although we got rooms late while checking in and late check out was approved by the manager, still reception kept calling at interval of 5 mins and kept sending staff to empty the room. Towels were not clean. Room cleaning was very slow, and had to be called multiple times before cleaning was done. Cycles were there in all sizes but tyres were flat.

Power loss at the entire resort spoilt our entire experience. No power backup. Absolutely unhelpful staff. The manager Mr S Dutta, is a lying con artist who must not be believed at face value, given one has to chase him for a refund for weeks and there is no assurance of date being provided by him. That one night, we spent without fan and the entire resort reeks of mosquitoes due to dirty drain water everywhere. Our entire trip was spoiled due to their incompetence. If looking for a weekend getaway options with family, please look at other properties.

1. Unhappy overall !!!! Excellent property infrastructure wise but staff not competent to run the show as mostly all are professionally untrained. 2. Untrained staff overall. Most do not know how to run a lovely property. 3. Rooms are nice generally. However many shortcomings. 4. TV is an smart Android TV which does connect to internet. However, the network is so poor that it never connects to the internet. Pls see attached pictures. 5. On requesting the reception for help on the above issue, they play ping-pong with housekeeping. But no help to the inhouse guests. Eight calls were made to Reception and HK. They curtly replied, the imternet is a bit weak in the rooms. I requested them to boost the signal if possible or rectify it. They were NOT interested. Stay duration 26 to 27 Mar 2024. Very poor show as same is being advertised on the official handle. 6. Water logging in bathroom. There was almost 01 inch deep water logging in the cabinet below the basin in the bathroom. Even on requesting HK, not much improvement. 7. Effervesence of wall paint. Many places in the rooms are having effervesence on the walls. Basically the walls paint is falling off due to water seepage. See att pics. 8. Dusting in rooms. The quality of cleanliness is quite poor. There are places in the rooms where there are layers and layers of dust and dirt stagnating. Clearly shows no effort being made to clean the rooms properly. Pls see attached pictures. 9. Mosquito menace. Not at all being addressed properly. Too many mosquitoes in the rooms. Fogging of the vegetation is not being done. 10. Bathroom hooks missing. Hence no place to hang clothes behind the batbroom door. 11. Main door security chain was found missing in C 109 & 110. 12. Inadequate hangers in the rooms. 13. Availability of golf carts is very limited, time consuming and difficult. Too long a waiting time. 14. Swimming pool. Very dangerous. There are steps inside the pool and demarkations for shallow areas. However none of them are demarcated thereby leading to accidents possibility. The sharp edge of the steps inside the pool can easily cut any person's legs. All these are majoelr security hazards and can lead to major accidents. Chlorine concentration inside the pool is too high leading to burning eyes post swimming. Dosage needs to be titrated. It was seen that a person wearing gloves was merely throwing Chlorine chemical powder into the pool randomly wirhoutndosage titration. No life guard present 15. Moat water was dirty, turbid and stinking near the reception area. It was pukish. 16. Approach Road from main highway to the hotel is still missing !!! 17. Breakfast is very average as it is included in the package. However any paid items on the menu is very nicely prepared. 18. Staff (thin smart guy with a smart haircut) at the restaurant is cocky and oversmart. In their bid to push sales, they do not guide customers properly and upsale items. Biryani was told was good enud for max 01 p

It’s a nice property spread over huge area. The rooms are very well made up and the decor is really nice. The USP of this place is its huge swimming pool. It’s very well planned and gives a premium feeling. It’s also very well maintained alongwith the property. The property is by the side of a large water body and green is all over. If you want to relax and take time away from the daily buzz and that too at a place close to Kolkata, look no further. Food is good but lacks variety for a 4 star place. The ‘BUT’ list includes unprofessional behaviour of staff. Though the Manager was quick to take charge of the situation but for a 4 star property such occasions should not arise at the first place. I remember reading reviews where there were comments of staff being ‘rude’ and we experienced first hand such instances while at the property. There is a lot of room for improvement in this area. After all, any resort will welcome repeat guest and they are their brand ambassadors. In summary, great property with great ambience BUT a lot to improve on the staff part to be eligible for an ‘excellent’ rating!!

The property is huge but not well maintained. There were multiple issues faced which needs to be taken care off if this property wants to be tagged as the premium category. Request for an extra blanket and pillow was met with lots of resistance. The location of the property is on the highway and as I had missed the signboard which wasn't well illuminated or visible properly - called up the reception umpteen times but all calls went answered. Nor there was a call back. Tried multiple times agian and got lucky. When we reached the hotel, did ask the reception manager and the hollow reply was that they were busy, there was a rush!!! At the restaurant ordered mixed vegetable without potato but received a plate full of potatoes!! Complained to the butler - but no response!!! AT the gym we were instructed to use it without a shoe not even sports shoes were allowed!!! First of its kind- so avoided it. The property has a mango orchard and a walkway has been created which is good but it is not cleaned regularly. There were cans lying which I saw on the first day and was still lying there on the third day!! The hotel does not have any car for hire and they ask to take a toto to visit ISCKON which is about 18 KM away and charge a whopping Rs. 800 for the trip!! and it is not safe to ride a toto on a national highway. I did not find any one greeting us except one of the security guard at the main gate - Sk. Samrat. The property has a huge potential, it is beautiful, huge but did not find it welcoming. Still had a good expereince ...

Went for one night when visiting the ISKCON temple nearby. Staff was completely overwhelmed by a wedding the previous 3 days, and as a result, delayed my party's check in by nearly 2 hours. Food was average, and the hotel itself looks nice, but for a functional experience, it leaves a lot to be desired. A huge issue is that the hotel Wi-Fi only works in the hotel's common areas. It does NOT work inside guest rooms, at least not the room that I was staying in. As others have noted, the resort itself is actually quite far away from the ISKCON temple, which is the main draw to visiting Mayapur. Overall, this place needs some experience in hosting guests, the inexperience of the property management really shone through during my visit. I think maybe this property would be more enjoyable in the spring/early summer when you can use the pool facilities, but in the winter, when the rooms are freezing and no heaters are provided, it's not an enjoyable experience. The one bright spot I would give to this place are its aesthetics and bathrooms in the guest rooms.

I would not recommend anyone to go to SonarBangla Mayapur just because of poor service quality. Reception Staffs are not trained. They don't know how to speak. Food and ambience is good. Suite Room was also good. Geyser was not working. If you are ready to compromise with the service, then only go, else you dont go. Overall not worth the price.

Apart from the Rude & Unprofessional GM Mr Subabrata Dutta everything else was very good in Sonar Bangla Resort . Special Thanks & Appreciation to Mr. Nabarul Malakar who was very polite & friendly . Also Mr Amrit Raj & Ujjwal Roy helped in swift checkin process .
