We stayed at Virunga Inn Resort and Spa for our Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking. The accommodation was superb! The rooms were bigger than most hotel and resort rooms we have stayed at. The bed was extremely comfortable! The level of service was exceptional. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable. Each day when one of our treks was completed we would return to be treated by the staff taking our boots and garters(which they supply) off and cleaning them incredibly well that they look brand new each time, ready for the next day's trek! The food was also exceptional. Lunch and diner menu changed daily and the many choices were all delicious. We did not have one bad meal there! We also organised our transport through them and have no complaints. Our driver guide Amir was superb. Punctual each morning and such a safe driver, essential in that area! I would highly recommend Virunga Inn Resort and Spa as a base for exploring Volcanoes National Park Rwanda!

I had an amazing stay at Virunga Inn Spa & Resort. The room was spotless, spacious, and had all the essentials for a truly relaxing experience. The service was outstanding – each staff member was warm, attentive, and ready to assist with any request.

I cannot say enough or recommend this place high enough for your gorilla in the mist adventures. From the moment we arrived and the hot towels and the most delicious pineapple juice I’ve ever had in my life fresh from their pineapple fields with the most kind people greeting us, escorting us to our lovely large room with all the amenities needed. From there, our driver his name was Patience drove us around to all of our excursions and back to Kali was amazing. We felt like royalty. In this jungle vehicle that made it even more adventurous. So you can understand that patients picked us up in Kigali at our hotel there and drove us to Virunga Inn. It was about an hour and a half drive then he stayed the three nights near us to take us to all of our excursions as our own personal chauffeur, and it was absolutely awesome and then he drove us back to Kigali. The hotel assigns you a driver so I would request patients. He was fantastic oh, and their seatbelts in this jungle vehicle. . The Hotels food was delicious. We would pre-order it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everybody in the staff was lovely and kind. when you finished one of your excursions which were amazing and come back, they would takeoff our gators and shoes and clean them for us and give us flip-flops and hot towels to comfort ourselves. The gorillas was worth every penny of the $1500 national park fee we got to be within inches of the most amazing gorilla family. It was opportunity of a lifetime that I will never forget and will cherish. We also love the golden monkeys, it was amazing with all the monkeys that would come right up to me. Diane Fosse hike was ridiculously hard and arduous over rocks and I would only recommend that for someone who is very in shape and loves to hike over very difficult terrain. It is not for the faint of heart or for any normal person. I do not recommend it unless you are so ridiculously fit and able to go over rocks for I don’t know six hours total it was over 21,000 steps. Pacific and Innocent at the front desk of the hotel was fantastic taking care of all of our needs and was such a gentleman. Oh, and the beds were like a cocoon of heavenly love to sleep in and they gave you hot water bottles. I have never had a hot water bottle in and now I never wanna be with without one. It was so fantastic! Also cappuccinos were delicious. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is worth every penny I so highly recommend a chance and a trip of a lifetime.

My husband, sister in law and I stayed at the Virunga Hotel during our visit to the Volcanoes National Park. The staff is among the hardest working teams we’ve experienced! They are highly professional and courteous. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was fresh, delicious, and prepared just as we requested. We could not have hoped for a more enjoyable stay!

My husband and myself stayed at Virunga after our Gorilla trekking. It is an excellent hotel with garden views and we were welcomed by the friendly staff who also cleaned our dirty shoes after our trekking immediately! The chef went an extra mile to cook us an Indian cuisine.
