Hotel an toller Lage. Alles ist sauber aber wirkt etwas abgewohnt. Es roch in unserem Zimmer und auf dem Gang etwas muffig. Die Betten waren unbequem. Preis Leistung Verhältnis stimmt für uns nicht. Aber die Lage ist wirklich toll. Die MitarbeiterInnen sind zum Teil freundlich und zum Teil desinteressiert.

Grandes chambres, simples mais confortables et bien équipées. Vue sur le lac depuis le petit balcon. Petit déjeuner buffet avec beaucoup de choix. L'hôtel est juste derrière la gare, soit même pas 5 minutes à pied si on passe par la porte de derrière.

Was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is mega-close to the train station so no trouble wheeling luggage from train to hotel. Had a warm welcome from the lady on reception and, although we arrived early, our room was ready. We were grateful for the hotel's air-conditioning as it was very hot during our stay and the hotel's fridge was very useful. Had a room with a huge terrace overlooking the lake. Breakfast was great. We ate out on the terrace on all 3 mornings we were there. Particularly liked the freshly-squeezed orange juice. My only gripe was the shower head. The water came out like a garden hose! If we'd have stayed longer I'd probably have mentioned it, but for 3 days I put up with it. However, I can thoroughly recommend the Geranio for anyone wishing to stay in Locarno.

Really lovely hotel. Excellent location. Friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast buffet excellent. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Good value for money. Restaurant is also good. Get a lake view room...it is superb....

I stayed here for 9 nights for a conference in the town. I am so glad I chose this hotel. I was given an upgrade to a double room due to the length of my stay, which was very nice. The room was spacious and had a balcony with a view of part of the lake. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to enjoy it as it was a busy week. The bed was firm, just as I prefer, and very comfy. The room had air conditioning, which was great, as the temperature was in the high 20s for all of my stay. Plenty of storage and the bathroom had everything I needed, once I found the hidden cupboard behind the mirror! The staff were so friendly and helpful. I want to mention the reception staff Maria Theresa and Monique in particular who were very kind and happy to do anything they could to help - thank you very much! They let me use the hotel's laundry room to iron a few items and even went to the restaurant next door to get some ice for me to help with inflammation from insect bites, which I had a bad reaction to. Beware of the midges when sitting outside at night. The location of the hotel is perfect, the road in front of the hotel is very quiet, hardly any traffic, just a few steps and you're walking along the pathway alongside the lake. Only 10 minutes walk to Piazza Grande and the Palacinema where our conference was held. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. A nice touch from the hotel was the 24 hour access to tea and coffee, as this isn't provided in the rooms, but is accessible in the breakfast room at any time. I found the hotel to be extremely clean and comfortable, and quiet. Not sure how many rooms were occupied during my stay, but I didn't really hear anyone else. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Wir haben, zusammen mit unserem Hund, 3 Nächte im Geranio übernachtet und sind begeistert. Die Lage ist sensationell, in wenigen Tagen ist man auf der Piazza Grande, der See liegt direkt vor der Hoteltüre. Der Hinterausgang auf Höhe des Bahnhofs ist sehr praktisch. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist gut bestückt und wird fleissig nachgefüllt. Super für Hundehalter - der Hund darf mit in den Frühstücksraum! Unentgeltlich kann man während dem ganzen Tag Kaffee und Tee konsumieren. Für abendliche Gelüste gibts einen Münzautomaten mit Getränken. Das Hotel ist jeden Franken wert, wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
