We've been there for one week with 70 teenagers for a ski camp. We have been absolutely thrilled all week long, they provided us a wonderful service, we all know how complicated it can sometimes be to endure as many teenagers at the same time, but they met the challenge even better that we could have hoped. Special thanks to Mattia & Lorena.
We stayed here in late May of 2024. It's a great location, just a block off the main street and a short walk from the train station. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door instructing us to check in at the Continental Hotel, a couple of doors down. Due to it being off season (even though in late May, Zermatt is packed with visitors), the front desk at the Alphubel was totally shut down. Not a huge deal, but when you need something from the front desk (couldn't get the phone in the room to work at all) and it's raining out, it's kind of annoying. The rooms are comfortable enough. Everything is pretty dated, looks like it's right out of the 1970s. The bathroom is tiny and the shower looks to be about 3 x 3 feet! None of this was an issue for us. The problem was that the wifi in the room was pretty much nonfunctional, about as fast as dial-up if you are lucky enough to connect at all. Wifi was very important to me on this trip so I went next door to the front desk to talk about it. The lack of wifi seemed to be news to them. I asked if anyone had ever complained about it in the past and they said no, which I find very hard to believe. They said I could always come to the lobby and use the wifi there. Not very practical at 11 pm when you're in your PJs. They need to upgrade their wifi if they are going to advertise as having internet service, especially at Swiss prices!
Great location, close to train station and local grocery. Spacious, clean, modern room. Had view of the Matterhorn! I love that there are so many things you can do while waiting to check in such as play tennis (they rent out racket and balls) or go to the spa. And they have a designated space to put away your luggage if you need to store it after checking out vs just leaving it in the lobby. Delicious breakfast with various hot and cold options. We noted it was our 5 year anniversary so they had a wonderful welcome and kindly gave us a room with view of the Matterhorn.
訪訪客用戶Amazing hotel with the best service. Clean rooms with smiling and patient staff. Family owned. Quiet luxury. Lovely breakfast room and a wonderful restaurant. They arrange ski passes as well. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend. No disclosures to make!!
訪訪客Very cosy and stylish hotel downtown in Zermatt. We had a view from the room and even from the pillow to the Matterhorn. Buss stop is some 100 m from the hotel. Clean rooms and all premises. Exeptionally friendly and helpfull staff. Coffee & Tea with lovely cakes served every afternoon in the breakfast room.
We went back to the derby hotel restaurant to find out if Giovanni Zaino and his team (very attentive Fernando) were still running the good restaurant in an agile and friendly manner and... our experience was even better than the one we had here in 2021! We will definitely be dining here again next time. By the way, we're going to stay at the hotel again, which this time was full.
EEe FenExcellent Matterhorn view from the room. Christina, I guess the owner of the hotel with excellent service and hospitality. However, the breakfast restaurant crews were not at par on service. Sight some argument with the tour group for table sitting arrangement which was not handled well. The crews wee also not with expected service too. The 2nd day breakfast was finished at 8am and we were told that it will not be replenished and that it was for the day. The spread with some left overs and we were not being offered any other arrangement. This is not acceptable with breakfast package. End up we hv to prepare ourselves with our own food. Very disappointed with this.
訪訪客Trip.com did not state the linen fee charges per person on their website. When I arrived I was shocked that a 4CHF per person per night has turned in a 78 CHF payment which is a huge discrepancy. However, it took me about 2 hours and I resolved this with the service reception of Alpen. There is no main reception in this lobby but the service providers were superb. The room is amazingly spacious and clean and it was an overall lovely stay thanks to the great service and comfort of the room.
