"Called in here recently on a Sunday lunchtime, only for a drink. The dining area was busy, although there weren't any customers sitting at the bar. The staff were very busy serving diners, and we waited patiently to be served. A girl came behind the bar to sort out a food bill for a customer and completely ignored us. After at least 10 minutes of waiting, I asked a young waiter if somebody could serve us, and he replied by saying he would get someone, nobody came. Many more staff came behind the bar, but we were still ignored, so we eventually turned on our heels and walked out, we went down to Rothbury instead, where the customer service was excellent in all pubs. We were very disappointed with the poor service, obviously the staff and management are more interested in diners than drinkers, such a shame but seems to be the way country pubs are going these days."
