Parked in the Argos car park to get booked in and unloaded. 2 hrs free in there. Although I heard most guests park there but didn't want to take the risk. I got parked in the street just down the road. There was a number to phone to get let in and shown to the room by a nice gentleman called Bruce. He also took booking for breakfast, either cooked or a cold buffet available. On the way to the room he showed where the breakfast room was. He also explained about the free wi fi and text me the password and said any problems to get in touch. The room was clean and tidy: tea, coffee etc, beds well made and very comfortable. Bathroom again nice and clean the shower was amazing, with shower gel, shampoo available to use. Notice let you know not to drink the water, might be OK if boiled for tea and coffee but we got bottled water from the local shop £1.55 for 5 ltrs. Main high street is 20 mtrs away if that, Tesco, Aldi within walking distance. Also a pub downstairs which we never visited. Overall very satisfied.

I can't praise this hotel and it's staff enough. After a disastrous visit to the Limes, I rang a number of hotels to try and get a last minute booking for my husband for the night as he was going into hospital the following day for major surgery. After ringing the Star Hotel they rang me back immediately to confirm they had a room. On arrival my husband was upgraded to a fantastic luxury suite which was totally out of this world. The staff were all helpful and friendly and all went the extra mile. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and can't sing its praises enough. Well done to The Star and its staff, you are all stars 🌟

The only thing good about this place was the girl behind the bar who seemed lovely. The twin room was so dated it was unreal, like stepping back into 50's. The wallpaper peeling off, dirty windows, plastic shower extension, uncomfortable squeeky mattresses, horrible bathroom.....I can't even comprehend how this is even listed as a hotel. Judging by the photos maybe they have better rooms but the one I stayed in was not something that should be advertised as a hotel room. Disappointing is an understatement.

firstly on arrival was put in the wrong room the owner was apolegetic . room s were very clean and looked like they had kust been done up . when i went down for breakfast the lady in the kitchen never spoke i just got up and heloped myself to tea and toast ..the breakfst came it was ok but the next morning the bacon looked off the breakst was swimming in grease . when leaving ther was noday to give the key to i called out but nobody came left the key on the hook .. paid 160.00 definaly not worth that will not be back

We arrived in the morning to check in as we were going to be late checking in at night. We arrived at 11:30pm to feel as though we were a pest Checking in as staff were on their break outside. We were then taken upstairs to our room which was not made up and still dirty. We had to offer to help make the bed as we were tired and wanted our bed. The duvet cover had holes on them. The shower got a quick wipe over and the shower door feel off and the loo stopped flushing. The carpet was thread bare. Really not worth the £110 we paid. We tried to check out and talk to someone in the morning and they said they had poor English so to email manager. A week later we.are still waiting on a reply.

It says kids of all ages welcome but no cots available for infants which is false advertising. Parking only available for two spaces which designated in the smoking area which could be really busy with locals drunk and smoking while leaning on the cars. Access and egress is situated also in the smoking area which isn’t suitable for kids. No running tap water in the room which is not mentioned in your dosage while describing the rooms. I’m glad the room came with bed linen which was stained and not common practice as the room had not been cleaned properly which is inadequate for the price paid. All in all a terrible experience and very disappointing. No food available for a hotel which is strange to say the least. Breakfast was available which was undercooked and not up to standards.

also the hotel states there is car park, bottled water in the room and a golf course? none of the above is true. water isn’t drinkable in the hotel room which wasn’t stated before I booked and it has a sign not to drink water. water is basic human rights and ‘car park’ has a space for 2 cars max and no other parking available in the area. I am just releasing how many lies there is. the car park advertised is next to the main door where drunk people are leaning on the car. ashing all over it. absolute nonsense

Really not suitable for business travelers. More suitable for anyone looking to film a 1960s film or to programme. It was like stepping back in time 50 or so years. All fixtures within the room were worn or broken and the olive bathroom suite had rubber hoses for a shower. Definitely no return visit for me. Staff are friendly and does a good breakfast.
