凱特亞青年旅舍(Hostel Cattleya - Monteverde, Costa Rica)

Aparte de ser hostel, tiene habitaciones privadas súper lindas, están nuevas! Camas cómodas y todo muy muy limpio. Las habitaciones privadas son amplias y seguras, tiene lo necesario para estar cómodo, tiene parqueo y algo que es buenísimo es que el dueño te ayuda con tours y con consejos de actividades para la zona, realmente es una excelente experiencia, recomendado al 100%

Das Hostel ist insgesamt super! Der CheckIn war etwas chaotisch, da alles nur in ein Buch eingetragen wird und es da manchmal zu Überbuchungen etc. kommt. Bei uns hat da aber alles geklappt. Das Badezimmer war nur zT sauber, was aber eher an den Leuten lag, die das mitbenutzt haben. Es gab warmes Wasser in der Dusche ein großes Plus! An der Rezeption kann man gleich Aktivitäten buchen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war super! Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt :)

Une très bonne auberge avec un rapport qualité / prix imbattable sur Monteverde (43$ pour 3 nuit dans une chambre lit double privée). Les espaces communs sont propres, la cuisine est grande et bien équipée et les chambres corrects (pour une auberge). Mais pour être honnête, c'est la gentillesse de Jonathan qui nous ferait revenir ! Très bien située à 5 minutes à pieds du centre ville de Santa Elena, il y a un parking pour garer son carrosse, plutôt pratique. On nous avait recommandé cet hostal, maintenant, c'est à notre tour de vous le recommander !

Great communal kitchen / dining area. Really friendly and helpful staff. Room clean and everything worked. Short walk to town, with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants etc. (Over-priced!) Downsides: no air con and mattresses were very uncomfortable.

We had read the excellent reviews for Jonathan and Hostel Cattleya overall, and I have to add ours to the list. We were a group of 50-somethings, coming from a pretty terrible VRBO in Monteverde our first night- so bad that I took a chance on a “hostel” (we haven’t stayed in a hostel since traveling in Europe during college!). We booked the economy apartment for $45/night, which turned out to be an actual two bedroom house— whhaatt?!?! It was perfect- clean, coffee and condiments laid out for us, dishes and silverware, clean towels in the bathroom, full refrigerator, an actual stove. A little backyard w table and chairs. It was fantastic. Jonathan was lovely, too- super friendly when we checked in, made sure we had his phone number in case we needed anything. Even just staying one night, this “hostel” was one of the highlights of the trip. We can’t recommend it highly enough. Cheers and best of luck for continued success, Jonathan!

Perfect for our quick overnight needs.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom house that was detached from the main cattleya hostel. Basically the way it works is that you have a hostel featuring numerous private rooms on one street and then the next street over you have two x 2 bedroom houses that could be rented for larger groups of up to 4. We hired the later and have nothing but positive feedback. PROS - VALUE - Stupidly cheap. 30 USD a night for three people which is actually cheaper than 3 x dorm beds and afforded access to a fully self contained house with complete kitchen which allowed us to save even more. - SECURITY - Deadbolt on the doors and bars over all the windows. - LOCATION - Within walking distance to the main area of Santa Elena. Walking distance to bus station and supermarket. - GYM - located literally across the road it cost 3000 colon for a day pass. - CLEAN - ROOMS - The place had two seperate rooms both of which had comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked well. Quilts on the beds. Hot water worked well. A fully stocked kitchen with fridges allowed us to self cater to further save more money, - WIFI - Worked well and was quite fast. Fast enough to stream netflix without an issue as well as YouTube. - TV had netflix and YouTube and streamed without issue. - FRIENDLY STAFF - At the hostel we were able to book a few tours with the major companies in the region and arrange for pick up and drop off from these areas. CONS - Nil Overall a really lovely stay at a ridiculously low price.

My room had a fantastic view; Johnathan and his family were great hosts. It was easy to book tours through them at a reasonable price. It is only a 10-minute walk to town if you wish to visit the restaurants/ bars, and there is a shop 5 mins away if you want to to pick up some snacks.
