Interesting stay at this quiet and friendly hotel in the heart of a busy city. Feels like you are in the countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Hotel is embeded in the UCR campus. Not super easy to access but once you figure it out it adds to the charm... The hotel rooms need a little TLC and upgrading but are clean and provide a relaxing stay. Breakfast was included and is very good. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Lovely grounds with unique tile work, art, and landscape. Nice artwork inside, including artisan crafted items. Beautiful balconies and lobby with hand carved local wood chairs. Restaurant on site with excellent menu. Some downsides include the noisy location: near the freeway/several ramps. Our first room was VERY stuffy and claustrophobic. Could not see out the window due to stationary louvers. No fan or ventilation. One light fixture in the bathroom blew out shortly, leaving the bathroom totally dark. We informed the front desk and the kind young man walked us back to show us how the ceiling fan worked. He seemed surprised there was no fan. Finally.... we were moved to a second room, which had plumbing problems (toilet and shower) and a random floor leak. Hmmm??? Others in our party had similar issues. The rooms could use inspection for maintenance/deferred repair items.

I stayed one night (was going to reserve a second one, but I didn't), I got there super tired and ready for my good first night of sleep in about a week... it was a failure. Internet speed was terrible (the moments I was able to connect) so I had to spend all my phone data credit to upload work documents, when I was finally done and ready to sleep a noisy couple next door (that definitely were having a better night than me) ruined. The rooms are not private and you can hear your other guests sleeping, talking, etc. On the morning, I had a work meeting so I asked the staff about the internet, to what they reply "it always work, try logging again", no solutions were given. I ended up paying Parking and coffee to get access to internet in a restaurant near by. I used to send all my work guests there, not anymore. Just realized it is like said in other comments, an overpriced hostel. Summary: Noisy rooms, terrible wifi. Breakfast was ok.

I was given a closet instead of a hotel room. The pictures on the site look nothing like what I’ve got. There is nothing open after 8:00pm in the area & the hotel is way too expensive for what it offers.
