蒙特雷飯店(Parador Castillo de Monterrei)

El lugar, el Castillo, espectacular. Muy bien restaurado, conservando el espíritu que debió lucir en sus mejores años. Siguen con obras externas, lo que dará más realce al lugar, ya de por si magnífico. Desayuno muy bueno y comida correcta. Con una pequeña mejora en la comida, estaría muy cercano a la excelencia.

Driving up the access road you realise that you are about to enter a walled mediaeval village. Unfortunately, many of the buildings you pass are in a state of disrepair but eventually you arrive at the car park and entrance to the castle itself. Passing through the garden you arrive at reception where check was seamless having checked in online before arrival. The room was compact, but unexpectedly modern, the outer wall appeared to be from the original castle but other walls and ceiling were clad in pine making the room a cross between a cell and a log cabin. The only natural light came from a patio door leading onto a communal terrace which had outdoor seating and tremendous views of the countryside. The room was really clean and comfortable and the tranquility of the location assured a restful experience. Dinner was served in a small “bistro “ style restaurant. Service was friendly and professional and the food was well prepared. This must surely be the smallest hotel in the Parador chain, but the friendliness of the staff made it an enjoyable stay.

It is a recently opened national inn in a castle that has been rehabilitated and enabled to function as a hotel The views from the parador are spectacular, the ascent with the car to it is done by a road with some difficulties but accessible There are certain areas that are still in ruins and are being rehabilitated but the visit and the walk through them are worth it, the hotel bar is in the middle of some so you can see them sipping a drink The parador is excellently decorated with pieces rescued from the ruins, it is cozy but has few rooms I only made use of the dining room, small too, it is advisable to reserve, where you can taste an exquisite Galician food

Meigas , brujas y la sombra de un castillo con historia que dibuja la tradición gallega. El hotel perfecto y muy pequeño . La comida es deliciosa dejarse cuidar por el personal atento y amable. Es un placer. Pedir cualquier cosa en el restaurante te sorprenderá . Meigas haberlas ahílas. Pero son buenas.

La rehabilitación es un quiero y no se . Se pierde la esencia de Parador y se convierte en un duerming o similar lo que que baja la calidad de alojamiento de manera muy considerable . Solo se puede ir a tomar algo en verano para estar en las terrazas , el alojamiento no merece la pena. Los radiadores del Salón estaban apagados en pleno diciembre lo que hacía poco confortable estar en ellos y en la habitación solo Se puede dormir porque es una cueva que agobia . Consejo: háganlo entero nuevo .

El lugar, como localización, nos ha impresionado, pero aún más el Parador en sí. Es una maravilla. También a resaltar el trato del personal, todos ellos, sin excepción, nos han dado un trato magnífico, cercano, familiar, inmejorable. Y la visita guiada al recinto fue muy interesante. Sin duda sitio para repetir.

No todos los días puede uno alojarse en un castillo, y más si está acondicionado con tanto gusto y comodidades como este. Aunque el entorno es difícilmente superable, lo supera la atención del personal del establecimiento. Una delicia de estancia sin lugar a dudas.

La atención de todo el personal solo tiene un adjetivo........ excelente....el trato exquisito.......gran grupo de profesionales desde el primero al último. Especial mención para Óscar Chaves y Miguel Rivera. Hemos estado en Agosto y Noviembre del 2021. Volveremos si o si. Gracias a todo el equipo
