蒙特克萊爾喬治飯店(The George)

I cannot say enough about the staff! So kind and happy and genuinely care about your stay. Accommodations are beautiful and breakfast is sooo yummy! The room themes are so fun! No mini fridge in our king room and it got really hot (ac would only go down to a certain level). You can hear everything in the neighboring room and outside; this surprised me with the brick.

Many things to like--an old, charming building with modern updates, super-clean and comfy rooms, and so on. The one weak point was a very disappointing breakfast buffet that was inferior to what I have had at Hampton Inn. No hot food, no meat, no fish, low quality cheeses, mediocre coffee--for the prices they charge I expect much better.

Disappointed by the initial lack of communication and gracious behavior which impacted my stay. I was not aware of the amenities except what I had read on line. The manager did not ask how I heard of The George. This was a touch point. Very quick to state there was no where to store my bags since I arrived early. I did not ask you to store my bags. I felt less than and pushed out the door for a bridal shoot that was taking place. I rememeber how you made me feel. And I had to pay for that experience. A tour of the facility when I returned would have been appreciated. I discovered a few amenities when I asked for a bottle of water. The George uses a filtered water station (which is awesome). The front desk attendant told me it was by the elevator. I had been climbing up and down the stairs since I had been entering the front of the property and did not know there was an elevator. The last issue was with the heat in the room. The front desk turned on the air con to cool it down, told me it was fixed until I woke up in the middle of the night and was back to where we started. Good news, I knew the right buttons to push to bypass the heat.

We liked the style... mixing industrial in an older mansion. Ive stayed in many hotels in my travels and for the money, i did not think it was worth it. The rooms were manhattan style small. No closet (just a bar to habg things). No chair to comfortably sit on (a metal desk chair only). Door to tha bathroom would not shut. Location was great. Good complimentary breakfast. People were very friendly. Candy closet was fun. Lovely library to sit and read

I felt extremely lucky to stay in this property. It is incredibly elegant and contemporary. Every detail is meticulously thought out. I felt so intimate and satisfied just being in my room or reading books in it’s gorgeous Library. Any hotel designer should visit this property and learn. Bravo!!

Really nice boutique hotel, meticulous inside and out. Surrounded by well maintained properties in an upscale area. Easy walking distance to lots of different eateries, many vegan friendly. Staff and hotel amenities are first rate. If you don’t want to stay in a congested, stinky, noisy, commercial downtown area, we highly recommend The George!

Not even close to the room in the photo. Online the "standard queen" looks spacious, but the room we stayed in seemed more like an attic closet. I did not expect to sleep in a full size bed three feet away from my clothes that were hanging on a pipe because there was no closet. Very disappointing.

This was a very lovely hotel that is in excellent shape and kept up nicely. The town of Montclair is an idyllic place to visit for that Northeast charm and the George Hotel is the perfect place to stay.
