From the moment we arrived at Newforge House, we were made to feel completely at home. The warm, welcoming staff set the tone for a truly memorable stay in this beautiful period house, where every detail reflects care and genuine hospitality. The setting is elegant yet relaxed, with an atmosphere that blends old-world charm and modern comfort perfectly. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the outstanding food, lovingly prepared by John, who showcases the very best of local ingredients with skill and creativity. Every meal was a delight — from the beautifully presented dinner to the fabulous Ulster fry in the morning, which was simply the best we’ve ever had! It’s rare to find somewhere that feels both so special and so welcoming. We left refreshed, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. We can’t recommend Newforge House highly enough — an absolute gem.

Just back from 2 nights at Newforge House and we’re already thinking about our next stay - our weekend was absolute perfection. Location is perfect for exploring Stunning Northern Ireland and John and his team couldn’t do enough for us - best service we’ve ever had. We were a family of 4 with an 8 and 10 year old and everyone was so kind and accommodating for us. We loved having a pre and post dinner drink by the fire playing chess and draughts. Beds are incredibly comfortable, bathrooms have lovely hot and powerful showers. The food was the highlight - ate both nights at Newforge House with different menu both nights and we all agreed it was some of the best food we’ve ever tasted and great selection of drinks. Breakfast also was beautiful and kept us full most of the day. Thank you for a wonderful weekend, see you again soon!

We have just arrived home from an overnight stay at this wonderful establishment. John and the team provided excellent hospitality and amazing food. We felt very well looked after and had a brilliant experience. A very relaxing time in a great setting.

Outstanding! From our arrival welcome at the front door by Catherine, to departing the visit, was of the highest standard at Newforge Country House. Complimentary tea or coffee was offered as soon as we arrived following our journey, and it’s a long time since we’ve had such a personal welcome. And that sums it up, because whilst you are there, for your full stay you are made to feel that you are the only person that matters. My son was home from Canada for a week so we decided to go to Newforge house for a stay over and also to sample their food. We were met at the door by John the owner who gave us a very warm northern Irish welcome . The room was spotless and very spacious. The lady Catherine who served us our food could not have done enough for us and made us feel very much at home. The food was on another level. It was all localy sourced ,fresh and so much work and thought had gone into every meal. Probably the best food we have sampled in a long time. One of the best places I have ever stayed in . Well worth a visit.
