We have stayed here quite a few times over the years. This time we booked a dog caravan site. So we were quite far away from the main areas. The site itself was really wet not good drainage at all. Obviously had a lot of rain but the site could be better. Whenever the dog went outside they got completely muddy. The BIGGEST ISSUE we had was the kids elderly grandparents came to see the kids for a few hours. They were told at the office they had to pay $50 to come and visit. I felt this was ridiculous since they weren’t using any facilities they were simply coming and sitting in our caravan. We paid for the site. It’s our caravan but we couldn’t have them visit. This is obviously a new rule and we understand if people are using the facilities as in the hot pool. But when they have no bags or togs with them it’s obvious they aren’t. Not to mention their age. COMPLETE RIP OFF and has totally put us off coming again. Such a shame as we have enjoyed it in previous years.

Fabulous place, very clean toilets etc. Receptionist was really helpful - advised us about bike hire and the best route to take. Stayed in our RV but we had everything needed in site - the hot pool was brilliant! Very quiet site at night, stunning views.

A group of 15 fellow hikers had the delight of spending 3 nights at this facility. It’s an amazing facility that suits most budgets. It’s spotlessly clean, quiet and definitely family friendly. The large kitchen and covered outdoor area is great. We appreciated the quick and efficient pizza ovens. The hot pool is pure bliss The location is great. The area is known as the Seabird Coast and it didn’t disappoint. Literally 1000’s of seabirds which travel between NZ and Alaska.

We booked online for a group of 7 and had to pay full price to confirm booking ($330). We were meant to camp this weekend but a massive storm is due to hit so we rang on Monday to ask if we could change the booking to another weekend as being in tents while it is storming isn't safe or fun. However the manager on the phone was extremely rude and said we couldn't move the booking or get a refund because we didn't call 14 days prior to the time of our booked stay. Now, there is no 14 day weather reports available and we rang as soon as we were sure the weather was going to be crap. We didn't actually want a refund as we really wanted to try the campground after seeing and hearing such good reviews. However we weren't allowed to move the booking either. We have lost the full payment for the campsite which is extremely disappointing given our reasoning for wanting to move the booking is weather which is out of our control. I understand they are a business and need to make money but it seems unfair to not move our booking to another weekend where they would still retain our money. Utterly disappointed and now because of the way we have been treated we and our family will not be experiencing the campground.

The apartment with private spa was the perfect choice for us to soak our muscles after a day cycling around this unique area. The place was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Friendly staff. We will be back for sure.

The perfect place for a rainy 3 day weekend with extended family. The kids had a ball - pedal cars, golf frisbee, bike riding, mini golf, bike trail, scavenger hunt, trampolines, a small Bex track, playground - and of course swimming in the lovely hot mineral pool several times a day. All free except the minimal charge for the pedal bikes. Clean, comfortable, lots of fun with friendly smiling staff to whom I’d like to say - thanks for a great holiday
