Element Minneapolis Downtown

I’m a Marriott Silver Elite member and frequent traveler, but my experience at Element Minneapolis was completely unacceptable. I booked one of the top-tier one-bedroom king suites for three nights and even called ahead to confirm it would be ready after my late flight. I was assured everything was in order. When I arrived, I was told the suite I reserved had been given away. Instead, I was placed in an accessible room that was not remotely comparable — a much smaller shower, less space, and nowhere near what I paid for or needed. This wasn’t a minor downgrade — it was a bait-and-switch. They offered 20,000 Bonvoy points as compensation — which doesn’t even cover one night in a basic room at this property, let alone a premium suite for three nights. I explained this and declined the offer, expecting a reasonable follow-up. What’s most disappointing is not just the room mix-up — it’s the complete lack of effort to make it right. As a loyal Bonvoy Elite member, I expected more. I escalated the issue, followed up again, and was completely ignored. No apology, no alternative solution, just silence. This shows me that loyalty doesn’t matter here. If you’re considering booking a suite at Element Minneapolis, don’t count on actually getting it, and definitely don’t count on them doing the right thing if things go wrong. I’ve filed a formal complaint with Marriott Bonvoy and will continue sharing my experience to warn other travelers. Marriott, this is not how you treat your loyal members.

What a great experience at this hotel! Very clean, staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable; we stayed in a suite with a fantastic little kitchenette! And the location cannot be beat. Great access to the many bars and restaurants of the north loop, warehouse, and central districts. And our window looked out at Target Field with direct access to the light rail system. This is a hotel that should not be missed if visiting Minneapolis.

Lovely clean hotel with gracious staff. Everything is like new and many eating and entertainment options nearby. Parking is easy, especially for a downtown hotel. It’s only a couple of hundred feet to entrance gate of Target Field. Love our stays here!

I'm not one to normally write reviews, but felt compelled to do so because of the service provided at the Element Minneapolis Downtown. It was a hotel, and I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary. Their facility was clean and organized, and it's clear that management runs a well oiled machine. What impressed me was not the cleanliness of the hotel lobby or communal areas. My room was pristine, checking in was a breeze and I knocked out the minute my head hit the pillow. And still, it wasn't my room that impressed me. Why I'm writing this review, and why I'd stay at the Element again should I find myself visiting Minnesota, is Greg. My flight in had me leaving 70º weather for 40º weather; I was tired, cold, and in a sour mood after a day of traveling. The humanity, the warmth and the welcome that their team presented itself as–that sold me. Greg was informative, effortlessly kind, and while my own time in the service industry tells me everything he did was a customer-service face –it felt authentic. The man treated me with more empathy and warmth than any hotel employee I might have ever met, and to him, it was a normal Sunday. To him, that inviting attitude, that kindness wasn't out of trying to impress management, that's the kind of goodness that's baked into the character of one's being. Kudos to Greg, kudos the the entire Element Minneapolis Downtown team, and thank you so much for making my trip a great one.

Excellent property! Everything was spotless and had such a nice clean smell, with no perfume or cleaning product smells. The room had everything you would need for a vacation or a work trip. A huge thanks to Greg at the front desk for moving my room near the laundry so I could wash clothes! The front desk supplied soap and traded our bills for quarters ( FYI $3 for wash and dry each load) I will absolutely return when visiting Minneapolis, especially for a Twins game. Several restaurants and bars within walking distance.
