Fairfield Inn & Suites Midland

Good and clean

I would love to give this place all 5 stars but there seemed to be a mix up with my reservation. I am positive I booked a room with 2 beds and a couch, because I have 2 teenage children that won't sleep together. It was only a few dollars more to book, and a perfect location to the Loons game we were attending. When I checked in, I was only given a standard 2 queen room, and the desk told me they were full and couldnt change my room type. I found this hard to believe because the whole time we were in the hotel, the lobby, the pool, the breakfast area, and even the parking lot, were basically dead. The parking was maybe 1/4 full. I don't know if this was an issue with ******* or the hotel, but it was unfortunate it happened. We made it work, but I feel an error was made. Aside from this mix up, everything about the property and room was perfect. Clean, quiet, updated, and a good location.

We liked the convenience of the location. We disliked the cold coffee in breakfast area and the poor housekeeping schedule.

The hotel was within an easy walk to downtown Midland. The staff was helpful, and the room was clean. Breakfast was the usual fare. One of the two elevators needed repair. I feel that the hotel was not exceptional and overpriced.

There was no heat for the pool - the kids lasted 5 min they were trying to push through with blue lips which was a bummer because they were looking forward to swimming. Other than that the stay was great!
