Great value - scenic views - friendly hosts (thanks Gordo and Michelle, you guys rock!!!! - hot spa is welcome after a day skiing - walk to town or hot pools - continental breaky is handy in the mornings - couldn’t ask more from a budget hotel . Highly recommend

Stayed here for 2 nights in the twin share. It was small but fit us nicely, the bathroom particularly tiny but was adequate. Tv had decent channels. The beds were single beds but absolutely comfortable and super warm, too the point we slept with the window open during our late winter stay. Free breakfast was a lovely addition with the basics - cereals, toast and drinks bar (coffee, orange juice, hot chocolate, filtered water). The workers were lovely and Chai the dog was very cute. The games room was an added addition, though it was winter the pool looked great. Would stay again!! Best suited for families or anyone on a budget.

Our stay was mainly to go skiing at Mt Hutt, and Southern Cross definitely made it an excellent experience. Gordy and Michelle were great hosts and always checked on us. We enjoyed the spacious and clean rooms and the comfy beds. The game room was a welcome facility, and my daughter and i took our time playing many of the games. Gordy made sure the room was warm for us by turning on the fireplace before we arrived. I enjoyed foosball the most, even if i didn't win against my daughter. We had a lot of fun at the lodge, so much that even my daughter wanted to leave a review. Here it is below: I enjoyed my stay at Southern Cross, and here's why. The gaming room was my favorite room. My favorite game in the gaming room was foosball. I beat my dad like a hundred times (When I mean I won like a hundred times I mean 10 times 😄). I also liked the bunk bed I slept in room 217 because it was so soft. I like sleeping on high beds and I also like climbing up ladders☺️. The hotel was clean, neat and beautiful. It had soft chairs and warm cosy fireplaces that feel nice. It had delicious yummy fill-my-tummy food and a nice looking pool. The pool is always clear blue, even on rainy days. There are also nice and friendly people to talk to 🤗. (PS I love hotels especially yours! Your hotel is the best one I have ever been to!) 🐖

If it wasn’t for the amazing host at this accomodation I would’ve found it disappointing. It’s definitely an older lodge that needs some TLC and spider web cleaning but it has so many fun activities such as pool, board games and swimming pool. I’ve never seen such a small bathroom in our room but as I said, the host made up for all of it. The place is lucky to have him

Fantastic staff went the extra mile for us. Great place to stay. Clean and tidy. Lot of facilities available at this lodge. Great owner who even cooked our dinner, shouted us a drink for our honeymoon just fantastic all round. Thanks so much.

We stayed 6 nights and thought the lodge was ideal for our needs. Excellent continental breakfasts provided. Nothing was a problem. Dining room and lounge area was very comfortable. Extra friendly and helpful hosts. Would definitely stay there again.

Everything you need with a family. Breakfasts included, a spa pool & pool, table tennis and a pool table for when skiing is postponed for a day. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Rooms small but just what we needed. Shared tea & coffee available and even a bar with cosy fireplace. Will now not stay anywhere else. Don't hesitate to book. Ask about the Fairy walk near Opuke Thermal Pools.
