"DO NOT STAY AT TOWNEPLACE SUITES PAINESVILLE, OH. I am absolutely furious over how my mother was treated at this hotel. During her stay, the deadbolt on her room was stuck in the open position, meaning she could not properly secure her room. Maintenance came out and said they couldn't fix it because a new part was needed. When my mother asked to switch rooms, she was told there were no other rooms available. She was prepared to leave and stay at the Residence Inn across the way, but the GM convinced her to stay by promising to match the Residence Inn's lower rate for her second night. More than a month later, she STILL hasn't received the promised credit. After numerous calls and emails, she was told the credit card adjustment was supposedly submitted on August 12 and to call back if she didn't receive it. She didn't receive it—and now she can't even get the GM to return her calls or respond. My mother is over 70 years old. She should never have had to repeatedly chase a hotel for a credit that management promised her, especially after a serious room-security issue. This is completely unacceptable. Knowing this is how TownePlace Suites Painesville treats its guests, DO NOT STAY HERE. There are other hotels right across the way. Take your money somewhere else. A promise means nothing if management won't stand behind it. Don’t trust them."
