Joshua Grindle Inn is a lovely place to stay in Mendocino. Situated in a quiet location within walking distance of the shops and restaurants it has an interesting history and though old in age has been well-maintained. Rooms are fresh and clean, well lit and bathrooms modern with fluffy towels and showers that work well. Each room is different and tastefully decorated. You can choose the room you want when you reserve. We stayed in the Library room which has a big bookshelf filled with books, a fireplace, a comfortable bed and two comfortable chairs to sit in. We especially appreciated the power *****s next to both sides of the bed giving us plenty of outlets to charge our devices, something not always available in older homes. Other special touches include wine glasses and opener in the room, a log ready to go in the fireplace and an EV charger on the property for electric vehicles. The buffet breakfast had a delicious assortment to choose from including homemade, warm scones. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the porch or in the parlor. Ken and Kate, the owners, are warm and welcoming and attend to guests' every need. We highly recommend staying here.

Our room (nautical) was very clean & quiet. Nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Staff & owners were very personable & helpful. The morning breakfast was a wonderful start to the day without having to go out & scout out food! The inn was a great location for strolling all over Mendocino. My daughter & I had a lovely get away. We highly recommend the inn & I will be back with my husband next time.

It is hard to find a truly traditional B & B experience these days, but Joshua Grindle Inn delivered. The welcoming check in and the friendly staff throughout our stay set a delightful tone. Our room, The Library, was spacious and well appointed with a super comfortable bed, upholstered chairs and power *****s on each nightstand. There was plenty of hot water, fluffy towels and full sized quality toiletries. The working fireplace was a lovely perk. Robes were a plus. The breakfast was Continental style but with fresh baked scones and good coffee, fresh fruit, granola, hard boiled eggs, etc. The gardens are well maintained and lush. Wifi was excellent. Self serve coffee and tea were always available in the parlor. We will return.

The Joshua Grindel Inn was the perfect place for us to stay in Mendocino. We were there for two nights, and could not have been more comfortable and happy with the entire experience. Kate and Ken, the owners, bent over backwards to accommodate our every request. The bed was so very comfortable, and we loved the bathtub! The breakfast was ample, and the scones were incredible! I loved the little touches like having luggage racks and bathrobes in the room. The woodstove fireplace kept us cozy with a great ambience each evening. The location to downtown coffee and eating was perfect. We would come back in a heartbeat multiple times!

Mendocino is a very special place. Its history, charm, quaintness, and leisurely character are an uncommon experience in today's world. Where you stay will enhance that adventure. Joshua Grindle Inn was an ideal choice for me. The intimate, hospitable, and charming Inn along with its delightful, knowledgeable, and attentive staff harmonize perfectly with the character of Mendocino. The Inn and its grounds are neat, clean, accommodating, and well-located. The proprietors are present and responsive. They are a wealth of knowledge about the community, its history, and current amenities. The short stroll into town is lovely, restoring, and energizing. There are other choices in Mendocino but none more compatible with the charm and grace of Mendocino than Joshua Grindle Inn.

We just finished our second stay at the Joshua Grindle and it was lovely! The town of Mendocino it absolutely stunning and this quaint B&B is a true gem. We stayed in Water Tower 2 which is an old water tower from Mendocino's logging era and it felt like our own private treehouse! The room was very sunny, beds were extremely comfy and the room had a wood burning stove inside so we could cozy up by the fire (we had a lot of rain one day so this was clutch). The breakfast each morning is also quite delicious (make sure not to miss out on the scones or their homemade granola!!) and all of the employees are kind, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area! This B&B is outstanding - we'll definitely be back and will be returning to the Joshua Grindle Inn!

Many years ago I wanted to include Mendocino in our trip plan but all lodging options were more than our budget allowed. This time I found Joshua Grindle Inn with excellent reviews and well priced for Mendocino. We stayed in a ground level room in the Watertower, with three steps up to door and parking in front. The entire experience from check in to check out was stellar. If you are near Mendocino it shouldn’t be missed. A charming town, delicious meal at Patterson’s Pub, a giant maple pecan roll from the bakery that took all day to finish, and a walk along Mendocino Headlands was stunning with rocks and crashing waves. Best of all was the hospitality from the owners and staff at Joshua Grindle Inn. If you are reading this review, make a reservation on their easy to use website.
