Our 4.5-acre property is 10 minutes north of Fort Bragg, off of Highway 1, and a mile from the beach — just far enough to escape the marine layer and get a good amount of sunshine. The house is surrounded by redwood trees, rolling meadows and flowering rhododendrons. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a large wraparound porch, a library/office, a sun room, and a hot tub. This is a beautiful but eclectic old redwood ranch house with a very large, bright solarium at its center.The spaceWhile the house is technically three bedrooms, "bonus rooms" allow it to fairly comfortably accommodate 3+ families or a group of friends. These include a large office off the master bedroom that can fit both a (provided) queen-sized floor bed and a pack-n-play. In the living room, there's a good-sized office, separated from the living room by a curtain, that can accommodate a (provided) queen-sized floor mattress. We're happy to arrange the house to best fit your party. If you're more than six, we recommend letting us know how you'd like the rooms made up so we can ensure you are comfortable.Guest accessThe property is 4.5 acres and we welcome you to use and enjoy it. Play in the meadow, make a campfire in the fire ring, have a picnic. While doing so, we ask that you respect the plant and animal life (no picking, climbing or hunting, please), the personal space of our neighbors, and our own personal property: there are a few scattered garden sheds, outbuildings and a travel trailer -- all at least 100 feet from the house -- that are not to be used or accessed by guests. There’s plenty of space and we’re very happy to have you. At the same time, one of the joys of being in the country is the natural beauty, quiet, and privacy it provides. Horse experiences available.The spaceOn many nights the sound of the ocean is a wonderful lullaby, complemented at times by distant frog song. The spring mornings are awash with birdsong. Watching the Wild Turkey or Mule Deer come out in the meadow is a sweet experience.This has an open, studio floorplan, so none of the bedrooms close off with walls and door. Downstairs, in the room to the backside of the fireplace, is the king bed. There is an upstairs loft area with a queen bed, desk, chairs, and half bath. There is also another loft with single bed accessed by the captain's ladder, and the stargazing room beyond that. There are additional foldout beds that can be put on the floor and in the stargazing room to make it a king sized sleeping space. And there is a daybed overlooking the meadow, that can be a sleeping area. The captain's ladder and loft is not intended for children due to the nature of the ladder. The sofa can be slept on as well of course.We offer "Mindscape exploration with horses" experiences here (airbnb . com experience # 3624145) and if it is booked for the time you want, just ask us with as much notice as possible to see if an appointment for you can be added to the schedule. Also, there is no cell coverage here, but wifi calling works great. If you want a truly grounding EMF free experience you can put the wifi on the provided timer or turn it off altogether. (Or have us remove it before your stay.) Sandy Clove Vacation Cottage is Mendocino's premier property is approximately ten feet away from MacKerricher State Park. The park has a Ten Mile Beach Trail, from Laguna Point to Ten Mile River is about a 10 miles hike round trip and you can explore walking trails, headlands and wetlands, sand dunes & lot's of beach front, fishing, seal & whale watching, & daily nature tours. This cottage is on 1 acre mostly taken up by sand dune visited daily by deer. It create a private get away with nature.The cottage is wheel chair accessible. There is camping & BBQ area. We are in walking distance to Horseback Riding and a small grocery/gas store. This quaint, cozy cottage is located 3 miles north of the Fort Bragg City limits.It is a unique new architectural style cottage with a large living room, with volted ceiling, a propane burning fireplace, 50”" Flatscreen TV with DVD/CD Player and Wi-Fi., and a 6 ft. couch for more sleeping. It has 1 1/2 bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, conventional electric stove, oven, microwave and dish washer. Kitchen has bar-type counter with stools to seat four and a dining room with table and chairs that can seat up to four. We offer air mattresses and sleeping bag for an additional up front charge.
