麥丘菲海灘度假村

A last minute trip to Mequfi in Mozambique turned out to be one of the best holidays taken in years! After a long flight on LAM and a very early start to our day, we were very glad to have landed in pemba. Our transfer was promptly waiting for us and the 1 hour drive was as expected on the bumpy dirt road for most of the way. On arrival at mequfi we were greeted by Sumail and staff and check in went smoothly.  The resort is very remote, small quaint and just what we needed after a buze year. If you are looking for a place to unwind, very peaceful and picture perfect then Mequfi is the place. The staff were great always smiling (Ramadhaan/Abbas/ Charlie/Perito/Biaci) and willing to assist. (the only downfall was the wait time If you ordered food/drinks but we did go during peak season so to be expected) The rooms were beautiful - front row rooms were great, cleanliness, turndown service all fantastic! Food quality was good (could use more of a variety,especially the desserts). Watersports centre was great, The staff always doing their best to make sure we had activities to fill our days. Travelling with a 4 year old it would have been great if the resort had a kiddies centre/jungle gym to keep the small ones buze, however that didn't stop the kids at the resort from having a great time with water activities. I would definitely recommend mequfi beach resort.Excellent value for money.

We stayed at Mequfi Beach Resort for 7 days over December. Our experience was absolutely fantastic. We are a family of 2 adults and a teenage daughter and teenage son. From the moment we landed at the airport in Pemba, our transfer was already waiting. They did not allow us to assist with loading our luggage and made it clear that we are now on holiday. Our driver was considerate and careful and made sure we arrived at the resort safely and undeterred by the bumpy road. He made sure we had some refreshments on ice, which was very welcome, as it was very hot. Upon arrival at the resort, we were met my Sumail, one of the managers of the resort. A cold face cloth was provided, and again, it was very welcome. We got a quick tour of the resort and amenities before meeting our luggage in our rooms. The staff at Mequfi is a real asset, and nothing was too much trouble for them. At the poolside, we were given towels, and later, fresh towels, without asking. Ordering from the bar was made easy by the efficient staff who were concerned if we did not have a glass in our hand. As for the food, Chef Shibu introduced himself at the first meal, and was around at each meal to get our feedback. Each meal had chicken, pasta, beef/lamb, fresh seafood, vegetables, pizza, a variety of breads and soup. Desserts were also well prepared and a real treat. Whether you are vegetarian, vegan or love meat, you are accommodated at each meal. The waiters are exceptionally well trained and the attention to detail is refreshing. As for housekeeping, the gentleman who attended to our room basically gave it a spring cleaning every morning. Again, the attention to detail makes our stay so memorable and the small things that are done and attended to, reveals a culture of guest appreciation and pride in the resort. I was initially concerned that a lodge, so far from the city, could produce a proper holiday but I was pleasantly surprised. I have been to many resorts on various islands, and our Mequfi experience is right up there with the best. Well done to the management and ALL staff from Mequfi Beach resort. Definitely a 5 star resort and we will definitely be back soon.

Antes de qualquer marcação, tenho por hábito verificar os comentários de ex-hóspedes e posso dizer que mesmo com comentários muito positivos me surpreenderam bastante durante os 12 dias em que estive hospedado. Foram inexcedíveis na prestabilidade, todos sem exceção. Contudo, gostaria de destacar o Anastácio e o Sumail no apoio às refeições, na receção, Sumail, e o diretor do Resort, o Sr. Mário, sem esquecer o Chef Shibu que fazia tudo para nos agradar com refeições cheias de requinte e sabor. O resort fica a 1 hora de carro do Aeroporto de Pemba e o caminho em terra batida para lá chegar não condiz com o que nos espera no local. Uma piscina enorme com jacuzzi e com um bar/restaurante de apoio que não deixa que nos falte nada. Funcionários dedicados e sempre dispostos a fazer tudo para nos agradar. Surpreenderam-nos várias vezes com pequenos/grandes gestos e detalhes que nos fizeram sentir em casa. O resort tem quartos espaçosos, limpos e bem decorados. Uma Smart TV, internet Wifi de qualidade no quarto e áreas comuns. Um mini bar à disposição. Chuveiro interior e exterior. Uma varanda com uma vista incrível para o Índico. Limpeza do quarto 2 vezes por dia. E o melhor de tudo, a praia. Para além do bar de apoio, existem imensas atividades à disposição. Destaco kayak num rio lindíssimo que serpenteia no meio de uma vegetação com macacos e desagua no oceano. Snorkeling nos corais onde se pode apreciar a vida marinha ao vivo e a cores. Foi um fim de semana fantástico. As casas são absolutamente maravilhosas. Encantam logo na chegada. O acolhimento dos funcionários foi também nota 5. Pudemos dizer que esperávamos um todo incluído bem mais fraco e ficamos bastante surpreendidos. Tinha bastante escolha para o nosso bebé e o pequeno almoço era bastante completo. A limpeza, a manutenção diária, a praia, em fim tudo foi top. Aconselhamos mesmo e queremos voltar. Obrigado por estes dias espetaculares

Wow! What a gem! Our first Moz holiday, and so glad we landed up at this resort. Thank you Sumail, Shibu and the rest of the team!! You all made this a holiday to remember! Clean, food for days, top service! Plus the weather couldn't have been more perfect, we will be back!

I made a reservation for this pretty hotel and then booked my flights. I wrote an email to confirm my transfer arrangements and did not hear back. I Called several times and no answer. I wrote several more emails and never got a single response from the resort. After multiple calls and emails I was left with no other option than cancelling my stay and forfeiting my flights as this was the only hotel in the region of its (supposed) calibre Either the hotel has terrible / no customer service , or it is closed for business and does not indicate that on its website. what a waste of energy that all was
