Me and my partner stayed here for our anniversary in early December, as Cornwall holds a special place in our hearts and we wanted to explore. I wish we hadn’t bothered. Firstly, Our car was towed away when parked on site at the resort, which the owner, Dec said belonged to Trevarrian. Secondly, the venue left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness, this was one of the worst we’ve come across. Dodgy paintwork, missing door handles and stained carpets to name a few. The facility also had cold showers throughout our stay, however Dec was very accommodating and boiled the kettle numerous times so we could at least have a bath in the shared bathroom. Finally, on the topic of shared bathrooms we had to endure sightings of what we assumed to be dirty marks in the toilet, only to have this denied by Jean on multiple occasions. Not impressed. Only positive about this place was the world class breakfast provided by Dec, which brought a nice end to our holiday from hell.

Lovely hosts. amazing breakfast. Quiet room. Bathroom a little tired but clean and comfortable. Great views over the Cornish countryside with the sea in the distance. The Travellers Rest just up the road provided excellent evening meal and hospitality.

My husband booked this for me as a bit of a retreat and it didn’t disappoint. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was simply outstanding - Dec has great taste and skill! We happened to be staying over Valentine’s Day and we can down to breakfast to find the dining room decorated with hearts, lights and all sorts of romantic tidbits on the table, including a bottle of fizz! It was a delightful surprise. Jean and Dec were so thoughtful during our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of provisions and we later had a sneaky park into some of the other rooms. There is also a well stocked and comfortable guest lounge, too. We liked it so much that before we left, we rebooked and paid in advance for our next visit with our daughter - and I cannot wait.

Fantastic breakfast, comfortable beds lovely room. What's not to like. Lodge is in a peaceful area and the owners are so friendly. They advertise upfront that dogs are welcome so dont be surprised if you are treated by two lovely furry residents. We will definitely be back next year.

Very friendly and helpful welcome. Comfortable communal lounge with microwave, refrigerated snacks (payable - honesty box), communal fridge, fresh milk, plates, serviettes, cutlery. Small folding tables provided in room which made eating so much more comfortable than perching on the end of the bed! Good quality and generous tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc. Good quality toiletries. Clean, airy, bright. Comfortable beds (we had a twin room). Owners willing to give us a full breakfast early in the morning so that we could catch an early morning flight. Easy parking right outside. Only 10 minutes from the airport. Thank you Declan and Jean for a very good stay.
