"Radha's Cottage is a lovely retreat, very well located at the end of the road in Matheran. It's a simple place, furnished largely with period furniture. The food is outstanding - the best I've had in 6 weeks of traveling in India. For those who are unfamiliar with Matheran as I was, a couple pieces of information: - The "toy train" runs very infrequently. Be sure to get a schedule if you plan to take it from the parking. - It's a 4.5km walk from the train station near the parking to Radha's. Don't believe the stationmaster if he tells you it's a 20 minute walk, it's an hour's walk. - It's still another 1.5km from the train station in the village to Radha's. If you've got a bag it's probably a good idea to get some help from a porter. - Sometimes the electricity goes out. When we stayed, these outages were brief, just a minute or 2. - Sometimes the water in the bathroom is dark brown. This surprised us one morning. It's dirt, and cleared during the course of the day."

"The Byke Heritage at Matheran is situated nearly at the end of the main M.G. Road. It is recognized as the largest hotel property in Matheran and features the oldest bungalow in the area, constructed by Matheran's founder, Mr. Hugh Malet. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Matheran station, so I recommend hiring a porter or coolie to assist with your luggage. Additionally, it is advised to buy any necessary groceries from the market itself, as there are not many shops close to the hotel. Guests should note that the hotel is situated on a hilly slope and involves walking many steps; therefore, it may not be suitable for senior citizens or those with difficulty walking on slopes. While the property holds a rich heritage, the rooms are old and the quality of food served in the restaurant is average or below average. Mobile network is poor here but a good Wifi connection is provided. I feel there is plenty of scope for improvement, specifically regarding the quality of rooms and the dining experience. Despite its history, no one at the hotel provided a brief historical background during our stay. The highlight for families is the variety of amenities for children, including badminton, cricket, indoor games, and an adventure park for older kids, alongside outdoor play equipment for younger ones. The hotel also hosts engaging activities such as: * Rain dance * A swimming pool for adults and another for children with water slides * A disco * Karaoke nights with Gauri, who was a wonderful entertainer and a highlight of our trip. The overall experience at the hotel is quite average, but the extensive activities keep children busy. When you consider their pricing, the experience feels much better; it provides excellent value for money for the price they charge. If you are traveling in a large group, this is a good option as it provides solid entertainment. However, you can find a better quality experience and much better food at Usha Ascot, which is located directly opposite this hotel. Like any other location in Matheran, this hotel has many monkeys which come with their own set of challenges."

"由於是雨季，幾乎每天雨都下得很大，我住的房間（圖1-3）估計是度假村裡比較低價，雖然靠近游泳池，裏面相當潮濕。房間設計也讓我感覺不太舒服。第一晚沖了個冷水澡，被告知需要提前開20分鐘才有熱水洗澡。肥皂🧼泡沫🫧少的可憐🥺，洗髮水是空的。 房費含早餐以及可選午餐或者晚餐（共兩人食用） 自助形式種類也還可以。（圖4-8） 三天兩夜衹在第二天接近傍晚徒步去了Sunset point（圖14-18）但霧大沒看到日落🌅，景色還是不錯的。孟買Uber可以抵達（2000盧布左右）回程就需要至少雙倍價格。建議提前在孟買找到司機願意前來接回（大約3500盧比） 山腳據載我回程的司機透露唄當地黑手堂操控，需要搭乘他們提供的小巴（每人100盧比）其它車輛上到山上的入門處需要每一輛車（500盧比）。 山上如門票50盧比，進入後搭乘電動三輪摩託前往市中心每人25盧比。大約三公里路程。 總計🟰春秋冬天前往比較適合，必須避開雨季（夏天）"
