My recent trip to the Great Zimbabwe hotel was a great experience as always. I always enjoy the fresh air away from the pollution of towns. The room I was given was spacious and the bathroom was spotless clean. I also enjoyed my team Chelsea playing against Arsenal although it was beaten. The staff is very friendly. I going back there again before the end of this month, May 2024. I also enjoyed a visit to the ruins which I did on my second day of stay. The food is delicious. I wont hesitate recommending friends and colleagues to stay at Great Zimbabwe hotel whenever they are in Masvingo.

I would not recommend this hotel! Worst thing was, that they turn the electricity off for the night to save it. So they announce they have air conditioning, but you cant't use it. When we stayed there was no electricity at night from 1 until 5, so all that time we stayed awake sweating in the heat. The windows can't be opened because of the monkeys and lack of mosquito nets and there are no fans either. There was also no towels in our room and we had to go separately to ask for them. Staff was not very helpful in anything.

As business travelers we were not prepared to arrive at this Hotel late at night, 8pm to be exact, after driving very long distances only to be told that our 8x executive rooms were no longer available after we had received confirmation on email 2 weeks in advance. To make matters worse, the Reservationist a Mr. Brian Masunda unapologetically told us off to go to a nearby hotel instead not taking into account that one of the business travelers was allergic to thatched roof. After some time explaining to the hotel staff how they heavily inconvenienced us by allocating our rooms to other guests without notifying us, still we did not receive an apology,. We reluctantly left the place and luckily found alternative accommodation. I would not recommend business travelers to this place.

We stayed one night at this hotel as part of our tour with Sunway Safari's. The room we had was old but spacious and was clean enough. The bathroom shower leaked to the point the water covered all the floor. The bar did not keep any change so had to pay correct money and the restaurant food was quite good.

The environ is tranquil, scenic and historic. It is very pleasant to stay at, and the overall reception is good.

Probably the best place to visit and explore Zimbabwe's rich heritage and the beautiful Kyle dam. We can only recommend. Hotel is very well maintained and rooms are great value for money.
